Daily Announcements 9/10/2020
Attention All Students: The 2020 yearbooks have arrived, and they will be distributed during 6th period and 8th periods this Friday. Virtual students and last year’s seniors will be able to pick their books up next week. Thank you for your patience. We are working hard to get the books to you while at the same time respecting the rules of social distancing and avoiding long lines and congregations of students.
The Farmland Conservation Club is offering a Hunter Education Course beginning on September 15, 2020. The course includes three days of instruction on the 15th, 17th, and 19th. Times for the 15th and 17th are 6:30-8:30 p.m. and on the 19th from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. If you are interested in more information, we have fliers in the main office that can be picked up.
FCA will be starting this Friday during Study Hall on Google Meet. It will be from 9:50-10:20. KP will share the Google Meet Code in the FCA Schoology Group.
Any junior high or high school student interested in joining Allies this year needs to contact Mrs. Braswell on Schoology sometime this week.
Calling all Randolph County High School Students and Staff! There will be a Blood Drive at the Randolph County YMCA on October 15, 2020 from 3:30-6:30pm. All donors will receive a special mask and be entered to win a $25 gift card!
The junior high football team traveled to Shenandoah Wednesday night to face the raiders. In dominating fashion they jumped out to a 24-0 lead at halftime and never looked back on their way to a 32-0 win. The bears advance to 1-1 on the season and face Union City next Thursday at home.
The Monroe Central varsity volleyball team had a BIG WIN over Winchester Tuesday night! JV lost a nail biter in 3!

The team played well and kept the fans on their toes! Your lady bears volleyball team will be in action again this Saturday at home in a quad match! GO BEARS!!
The Monroe Central Girls’ Golf team was defeated by Northeastern Wednesday at Highland Lakes by a score of 220-193. Scores for the Bears: Bailey Jester:51, Brandy Jester:53, Lydia Price:56, Hannah Keeley:60 The Bears take on Wes Del and Randolph Southern on Thursday at Hickory Hills Golf Course.
The MC Jr High Cross Country teams ran in a hot meet against Selma Middle School Wednesday night. The Girls won their race with a score of 18-42. Avery Thomas came in 1st overall on the 1.8 mile course with a time of 14:30. Makennah Chamness was a strong 5th runner, coming in 8th place overall. Lane Dance led the Boys’ team, coming in 6th with a time of 12:40. Max Wagner ran through the heat to finish 32nd. Corban Pegg worked through a foot injury to finish strong. Great job teams!
Monroe Central JV and varsity cross country teams faced off against Union City, Union County, and Winchester in a 4-way meet at Monroe Central this evening. The girls placed first with only 21 points, and the boys team placed first with a perfect score of 15 points. Go Bears!
