COVID-19 Precautions – Now, more than ever, we have to continue to be vigilant about following all of the precautions we’ve put into practice. Masks should be worn over mouths and noses. Social distancing should be practiced as much as possible. Not congregating in common areas together needs to continue. Please help us stop the spread here at Monroe Central. The numbers of COVID cases are on the rise in Randolph County. It will take all of us working together to keep this virus away at MC.
Among Us Video Game App – Unfortunately, this game has started to become a huge distraction for students and their academic success. I have asked teachers to monitor this to ensure that games aren’t being played during academic times, and this includes during study hall. Study Hall is not meant to be a time for playing games. Play it at lunch, before school starts, etc. – we are good with that, but not when you should be working on school work. Thank you for your restraint from the gaming.
Veteran’s Day Parade – MCHS will be participating in lining up on Bear Lane on Veteran’s Day to pay tribute to our Veterans as they drive through the Monroe Central campus. During the next four Study Hall periods, teachers will be asking you to write a thank you letter to a Veteran that can be handed out to them as they go through the drive-thru. In addition, I’m asking each study hall to create a poster that can be held by students during the drive-thru as well. You will be able to use a piece of bulletin board paper from the library as your poster. This will happen from 1:00-1:30 p.m on November 11th. More details to follow, but begin working on your thank you letters and study hall class poster.
Attention Freshmen & Seniors – Mr. Retherford or Mr. Tipple will be visiting your Study Hall classrooms either this Thursday (Seniors) or next Monday (Freshmen) to go over graduation orders and class ring orders from Jostens. Jostens will be mailing home packets with ordering information to all Freshmen and Seniors. Please let your parents know that these are coming – it is not junk mail. Jostens will be here on Wednesday, November 18th at lunch to take orders. Orders will also be taken online. Again, we will be visiting your Study Halls soon to give you more information and answer your questions.
