Feeling dramatic? Monroe Central Theatre will be holding auditions for the fall play “Heir to a Misfortune” on September 14th & 15th at 3:30pm in the choir room. No experience needed! Audition forms will be available in the front office and at the audition. Email Ms. Miner with any questions at ominer@monroecentral.org.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Friday will be a red, white, and blue dress up day. Show your support for America on Friday.

All high school students are invited to the Harvest Semi-Formal dance! The dance will be Saturday, September 25th, 8pm-11pm. The cost of tickets will be $15 for couples and $8 for a single. Tickets will be sold during lunch starting Monday, September 13th through Friday September 24th. Tickets will also be sold at the door. If a student from another school will be attending, please pick up a dance request form from the office. Come out and have a great time!

Students that received the Out of District form from Mrs. Swift in Student Services, please return the signed forms as soon as possible.

UNOH, the University of Northwestern Ohio, has their Fall Open House scheduled for November 5th and 6th. Over $200,000 in scholarships will be awarded! See Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information. (9/13)

There will be a boys basketball call-out meeting with Coach Ullom on Friday, September 10th beginning at 10:20 a.m. during LITE period.

The MC Jr High Cross Country teams ran against Selma Middle School Wednesday night. The boys came in second with a score of 55. Jackson Wines led the boys and finished 3rd overall. Wyatt Daniels came in 4th for the team and Max Wagner was the final scorer for the boys team. Zadok Lloyd was less than a second behind, finishing 6th for MC with a big PR time. Noah Morey finished out the top 7 for MC. The Girls team earned a very impressive perfect score of 15! Leading the Lady Bears was Avery Thomas in 1st place overall. Makennah Chamness finished 6th for the team and 7th overall, followed by Ailey Moon in 13th place. Great race Girls!

The Golden Bears Junior High Football Team defeated the Shenandoah Raiders 28-8 bouncing back after last week and improving their record to 1-1. The Golden Bears play Union City next Tuesday.

Both varsity boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams competed in a 4-way meet at Camp Slingshot in Winchester last night. The boys won in a tie breaker with a score of 40. Lance Dance, Nathan Daniels, Easton Foster, and Grant Rees finished with outstanding efforts and a great performance from Haydon Taylor for breaking the tie! The girls also won with a score of 19 with Addison Coe, Katie Osbourne, Addy Puckett, and Kelsie Gaddis finishing 1st through 4th place. Congratulations to both teams on an awesome night! The varsity cross country teams will be back in action on Saturday at the Randolph Southern Invitational.

The Monroe Central Girls’ Golf Team was defeated by Northeastern Wednesday night at Hickory Hills 227-187. On senior night the Bears were led by the seniors Lydia Price: 52 and Audrey Stoops: 56. Maleigh Ervin and Carol-Anne Kritsch finished with a 59 and 60. The Bears play in a 3-way meet Thursday at the Muncie Elks against Wes Del and Randolph Southern.
