Girls basketball will have a call-out meeting on Tuesday at 10:30am in the main gym.

Feeling dramatic? Monroe Central Theatre will be holding auditions for the fall play “Heir to a Misfortune” on September 14th & 15th at 3:30pm in the choir room. No experience needed! Audition forms will be available in the front office and at the audition. Email Ms. Miner with any questions at ominer@monroecentral.org.

All high school students are invited to the Harvest Semi-Formal dance! The dance will be Saturday, September 25th, 8pm-11pm. The cost of tickets will be $15 for couples and $8 for a single. Tickets will only be sold during A lunch through Friday September 24th. Tickets will also be sold at the door. If a student from another school will be attending, please pick up a dance request form from the office. Come out and have a great time!

UNOH, the University of Northwestern Ohio, has their Fall Open House scheduled for November 5th and 6th. Over $200,000 in scholarships will be awarded! See Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information. (9/13)

Seniors – we have another ceiling tile art project work session scheduled for this Wednesday from after school until 7:00-8:00 p.m. If you are interested in painting a tile, you must get started this Wednesday night. We may have one more session for those who have started to allow them to finish.

The boys’ and girls’ varsity cross country team traveled to Randolph Southern and competed on Saturday. The boys were Invitational champions with Tucker Burris leading the way placing 1st with a 16:57. Carter Miller, Kyler Shumaker, Eli Chamberlain, and Caden Landis also had strong performances for the Bears. The girls’ team placed second with Addison Coe in fine form running a 21:15. Katie Osbourne, Addy Puckett, Karly Puckett, and Kelsie Gaddis also ran strong. The Bears will compete on Tuesday at the Muncie Central Invitational at the Sports Plex.

Monroe Central Football won last Friday at home versus Oldenburg 45-0. Elijah Taylor aka “Kicking Bear” hit a school record 32 yard field goal. The team would like to send a big thanks to the cheer block for all the support. This week the Bear’s face second ranked South Adams. They have a student cheer block that travels to road games and they like to dominate the environment calling themselves The Universe (Starfires). Hope to see you all at the game. Go Bears!
