The temps heated up Saturday morning, but the MC Jr High Cross Country Teams didn’t let that slow them down. The boys and girls teams completed in the South Adams Invitational against runners from 18 other schools. The girls team finished in 2nd place out of 13 complete teams. The boys team came in 11th in a field of 18 complete teams. Avery Thomas led the girls team, coming in 15th overall. Makennah Chamness ran a great race, finishing in 43rd place. The Golden Bear football team won a big match up with rival South Adams last Friday 23-0. Congrats to the defense for creating 4 turnovers and shutting out the Starfires. It was a big night for Elijah Taylor and the kick cover special teams. “Kicking Bear” was a weapon in each of the three phases of the kicking game…. Kick-Off, Punt and a made field goal.

The best part of the evening was looking up and seeing the “Bear Club” student section. Thanks to all that were in attendance. The team sends many thanks and will be pulling for all fall sports in their week of competition. None of this is possible if we are not getting it done in the classroom! No Books, No Looks!
