Archery practice will be at the elementary school on Tuesdays starting on November 2nd. The JH and HS will practice from 5:15-6:45pm.
Class of 2023 – the volunteer sign up sheet for this Saturday’s “Howl-O-Ween” parade is available in the front office. We still need volunteers. Please stop by and sign up to help by the end of the school day on Friday. All volunteers should report to the Parker City shelter building by 12:15pm.
Do you love poetry? Do you love reciting poetry? There will be a call-out meeting on Friday in Mrs. Braswell´s room during LITE for any high school student interested in competing in the annual Poetry Out Loud competition.
This Friday, for a $1.00 donation, there will be a Halloween costume dress-up day. Most Creative and Best Group Theme costumes will receive a prize. **Costumes must meet school dress code guidelines and no masks covering faces.
There will be a Winter Percussion Informational Meeting on Monday, Nov. 1st at 7:00pm in the Band Room. All interested should attend with a parent. No experience necessary, all skill levels and abilities are welcome.
Class of 2026 – All Wick’s Pie fundraiser forms and money are due to Mrs. Willmann (room 141) by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27. Please put the money and fundraiser form in an envelope with your name on it.
The Class of 2025 will continue taking orders for spirit wear through Wednesday. Order forms are available in the office.
Senior yard sign order forms are available in the office. Order forms are due back to the office by Friday, October 29.
It’s SOCKtober! The Anchor Club is collecting new socks, hats, and gloves for the Journey Home in Winchester. Please bring donations to the tote in the front office!
The Class of 2023 will be hosting a “Howl-O-Ween” Pet Parade on Saturday, October 30th. Registration will begin at 12:30pm at the shelter building (next to the ballpark) in Parker City. Parade will begin at 1:00pm.
The Parker City Volunteer Fire Department will host the Parker City Fall Festival this Saturday, October 30th. They will serve free chili, hot dogs, and desserts from 1-6 p.m., will have games and face painting from 2-5 p.m., hay rides from 8-10 p.m. after trick or treating, a bon-fire from 8-11 p.m. and will show a family friendly Halloween movie from 9-10:30 p.m.
The Monroe Central Scholarship Fund will be hosting the Sadie Hawkins / Halloween Dance October 30th. Couples or Friends partner up in a themed couple costume or matching outfit. The best most creative couple costume will win a prize! So, start planning your costumes now. Crabtree Photography will also be available for pictures. Order forms are available in the front office.
Purdue Polytechnic Anderson’s annual Black And Gold Day will be November 12th. This event is limited to juniors and seniors only that would have an interest in Engineering Technology, Information Technology or Aviation Technology programs. For more information on being recommended for this opportunity, see Mrs. Swift or Mrs. Moran in Student Services.
High School National Honor Society is hosting a blood drive on Friday, November 12th. You can sign up in Student Services. If you are 16 years old, you will need to pick up a parental consent form in Student Services. If you are 17 years old or older, you can sign up without parental consent.
The boys’ and girls’ cross country teams’ season came to an end last Saturday at Semi-State in Huntington. The boys placed 12th as a team, which was the best team finish in school history! Tucker Burris led the Bears placing 40th, with Carter Miller close behind placing 48th. Eli Chamberlain, Kyler Shumaker, Caden Landis, Lane Dance, and Nathan Daniels all ran well for the boys. Addison Coe also ran well on Saturday with a time of 21:50! Also, a “thank you” to our seniors for making this a great season, Tucker Burris, Carter Miller, Kyler Shumaker, Briar Butler, James Daniels, Dorian Weesner, Lane Anderson, and Star Moon.
