It’s time for the Christmas Dance of 2021! Come out and join the Junior High Student Council on Saturday, December 11th, after the Boys’ Varsity Basketball Game. There will be a live DJ, ugly sweater contest, cornhole tournament, and over 100 free Chick-fil-A gift cards as prizes. Tickets will be $5.00 at the door, or 2 tickets for $8.00 if you purchase during Junior High lunch next week. All proceeds go to the Muncie Animal Rescue Center (“ARF”).

Guess who “might have” donated to the Bear Necessities program over the weekend? Ryan Reynolds — yes, I said Ryan Reynolds!!! So — please take a look at the donation tree next to Mrs. Haney’s classroom, and bring in items for students-in-need. The Education Professionals Pathway classes are collecting toilet-tree items through Christmas Break. And hey — If this cause is good enough for Ryan Reynolds, then it’s good enough for all of MC! Go Bears!

Candy Canes are now for sale @ .50 cents each in the library before first hour or at lunch time. A variety of flavors are available. Candy canes will be available for purchase until December 15th.

JAG will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. There will be a box set up outside of the JAG room.

The MC Academy will be accepting both non-perishable food and money donations for the Rex Amburn Memorial Food Drive. All donations can be dropped off in boxes by grade level on the stage in the cafeteria. The grade level that brings in the most items ($1 in cash = 1 item) will earn an ice cream sandwich for each student in that grade level at lunch. The need is great – we ask that you help us support this important food drive for the MC Community. Donations will be accepted through Friday, December 10th.

Congratulations to the varsity quiz bowl team on their second place finish in the Quad City League Tournament this weekend. They defeated several league foes before eventually losing to a very strong tournament champion, Eastbrook. Most exciting about the tournament was the participation of the entire team, resulting in the strongest tournament finish in many years. The varsity team competes next in January in the state-qualifying area tournament. Go Bears!

Attention Baseball Players – There will be baseball practice tonight (Monday) from 7-9pm in the Main Gym.
