The 7th grade homecoming court is Cory Brown and Kloee Brannon.
Good luck to Matilde Ibarra, Ivon Padilla, and Hannah Coe as they compete in the annual Poetry Out Loud contest today for a chance to represent our school at the state competition in February. The contest begins at 4:30 in the school library. All are welcome to attend.
There will be a call-out meeting for all those interested in “Beauty and the Beast”, today at 3:30pm in the Cafeteria. Snacks will be provided, so bring a friend and find out how you can get involved this semester! Please email Ms. Miner with any questions!
Attention All Students – The choir could use some additional voices. If this is something that interests you, please plan on showing up on Thursday night at 5:30 in the choir room to check it out. No pressure – if you end up not liking it, you don’t have to return. Try something new, you just might like it!
There will be a call-out meeting during LITE on Thursday for any 7th and 8th grader interested in joining the Academic Team this year. Message Mrs. Braswell on Schoology with any questions.
The Class of 2025 will be staying after school Thursday and Friday until 5:30 to work on homecoming decorations. We will be meeting in Mrs. Willman’s classroom. If you have any questions see Mrs. Craig or send her a schoology message.
Seniors – if you are wanting to go on the senior trip, the first payment of $150.00 is due this Friday.
7th graders (Class of 2027) – if you want to help decorate the banner and hall decorations for Homecoming, please plan on staying after school on Friday until 6:30pm.
There will be a Homecoming dance next Friday, January 21st, after the boys basketball game until 11pm. Cost is $3. If you plan on bringing a student from a different school, please fill out a dance request form.

Friday – Brown & Gold
Senior shirts will be available for pick up in the evenings the week of homecoming while working on decorations. The cost is $10.00 & if you write a check make it payable to MCHS.
On Saturday 2/12/22, Monroe Central will be hosting the 6th Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball invitational from 9AM to 4PM. Volunteers are needed for the following: referees, table captains, scorekeepers, runners, clean up and so much more so if you’re interested in volunteering, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 for more details. Any help is appreciated!
The Purdue University Women in Engineering Program is sponsoring an Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day on Saturday, Feb. 26th. This is a free event designed to increase interest in engineering among 9th and 10th grade students. It will be held at Purdue University in West Lafayette. Please see Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information.
