SENIORS AND ANYONE GRADUATING WITH THE CLASS OF 2022: One baby photo and one current photo of each of you needs to be turned in for the graduation video. These must be submitted by Thursday, March 17th to goldenlensphoto21@gmail.com
(Also, if you have any photos or videos of multiple members of the class of 2022 from any year K-12, you are encouraged to send these in as well).
Sophomores and Juniors: MACC applications are available in student services. All applications must be submitted to Mrs. Moran by Monday, February 14th. Stop by student services for an application or to ask questions about a program that might be a great fit for you!
Juniors: We will be offering a college visit to Ball State University for a campus tour and presentation on April 7th. Pick up a permission form in student services. Spots are limited to 50 students, so get yours turned in today!
Indiana Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Academy has opened registration for the week-long camp that will be held July 17 – 23, 2022. This is open to boys and girls currently in grades 9 thru 12. Please see Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information.
On Saturday 2/12/22, Monroe Central will be hosting the 6th Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball invitational from 9AM to 4PM. Volunteers are needed for the following: referees, table captains, scorekeepers, runners, clean up and so much more so if you’re interested in volunteering, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 for more details. Any help is appreciated!
The Lady Bears traveled to Blue River last night, the Vikings defeated the Bears 53-41. The Lady Bears fought hard on the defensive end, battling foul trouble all night. The Bears cut into the Vikings lead twice in the second half but couldn’t pull any closer than 10 points. Sydney Patterson led the Bears offensively with 17 points. The Lady Bears will play again, next Friday in the Lapel sectional.
Here is the recap from the 7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball game against Union City.
7th grade: The 7th girls basketball team were victorious after hosting Union City 21-19. It was a battle until the final seconds. The Lady Bears were tied 19-19 with 18 seconds left and had a well-executed play to hit the final shot. All around great game by the lady bears.
8th grade: The Lady Bears were victorious on their 8th grade night winning 43-26. Despite being in foul trouble early in the game, the lady bears had great defense the whole game. They also moved the ball well to get everyone scoring opportunities. Overall, great effort by the lady bears. Our next game is Monday February 1st at Muncie Southside.
