Indiana Wesleyan University is offering camps in Engineering, Forensic Science, Writing, Nursing, Urban Farming, Computer Science, Art and MANY MORE during the week of June 19-24, 2022. For more information check out www.indwes.edu/summer-academy.

Attention seniors – Jostens will be here today during lunch from 11:20am – 1:30pm to pass out caps and gowns.

Aaro’s will be here on Wednesday, April 20th during lunch from 11:20am-1:30pm, for prom tuxedo rental. Half the tux rental will be due at this time to place your order. Tux accent color can be chosen at a later date. Also, there will be a discount if you place your tux rental, boutonniere and corsage order.

There are formal dresses for any occasion for sale in the office. Cost is $25 each. If you have any questions please contact Nurse Thomas or Mrs. Willmann.

National Honor Society is hosting a Blood Drive on April 26, 2022. Sign up in Student Services.

Todd Young, U.S. Senator for Indiana will be hosting a Virtual Academy Day Thursday, April 28.
This is for students interested in any of the military academies. See Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information.

EDMENTUM STUDENTS: ALL Edmentum discussions will be due by May 13th and Unit Activities will be due by May 20th. All computer-graded tests will be due the last day of school, May 26th. No discussions or unit activities will be graded after this date. If you don’t finish your course with a passing grade by May 26th, you will be asked to attend summer school to finish or start the course over again next school year.

The 2022 Monroe Central Jr- Sr Prom will be Saturday May 14th, 2022 from 8pm-11pm at The Wedding Factory in Albany, IN. This year’s theme is “Enchanted Forest.” The Grand March will begin at 4pm & all those wishing to participate should arrive at the school at 3:15pm. After-prom will follow, beginning at 11:30 pm and ending at 1:30am at Monroe Central High School. Please fill out a dance request form if you intend to bring someone from another school. Those forms are available in the front office and should be submitted no later than May 12th. Prom tickets will be sold two weeks before the event and the cost is as follows: Single ticket/ $35.00 and a Couple’s ticket/$50.00.

Monroe Central will once again be hosting IHSAA sports physicals this June with Dr. Lumpkin. We have two dates available but will fill the June 9th date first before using the June 16th date. The cost is $20 and must be paid when signing up with Mrs. Murray in the HS office.

The Varsity Baseball team defeated Muncie Central last Thursday evening by a score of 8-0. Caleb Synder threw five strong innings to pick up the win for the Bears. The Bears won both games of the double header on Saturday against Hagerstown. In game one, Aidyn Coffey pitched a complete game to earn the victory on the mound. Caleb Snyder hit a grand slam while Lane Wilson picked up three hits for MC. In game two, Braden Matheny pitched five strong innings for the win. Snyder had two hits and 3 RBIs in the 2nd game. Great job to our Baseball Bears.

Great job to the Varsity Boys Golf Team on a solid performance Saturday in the MC Invite at Hickory Hills. Leading the way for the Bears were Gavan Patterson and Reagan Duran, each shooting 96. Great job guys!

The jr. high track teams opened their seasons with 2 meets this week. The girls defeated Selma 75-25 and placed 2nd in a 4-way with Blackford, Jay County and Wes-Del. The boys fell to Selma 35-65 and placed 3rd in the 4-way meet. Ethan Hunt set a new Jr. High 100M Dash record in very windy conditions, running in 11.47 seconds.
