This past Saturday, April 23rd, the Indiana FFA held state CDE contests at Central 9 Career Center. MC had participants in both the state small gas engines contest and the state floriculture contest. Our senior Floriculture team consisted of Maddy Friend, Kristin Northcutt, Gracie Lee, and Zach Lee. They had to Identify flowers, make floral arrangements, and talk about growing procedures. This team placed 2nd out of 13 teams in the state. Our junior Floriculture team consisted of Rylin Tinsman, Zoie Hood, and Andi Watson. They did very well for their first year.

The small engines team of Ryan Calhoun & Alex Anderson had to complete a segment on tool and engine part ID, use a service manual, take a general knowledge engine exam, complete six mechanical skill stations, assemble an 8 hp small engine, and work through a customer service scenario on a mower repair situation. Good job to the team in their competition and 18th place finish!
Congratulations to all of these members, we are very proud of them!

The FFA Floriculture Team is making boutonnieres and bouquets for all juniors and seniors going to prom. These will be artificial flowers so you can keep them as a keepsake forever. Sign up in the office and talk to Becky, Mr Weiler, or Mrs Thornburg for pricing!
