There will be no after school tutoring this week.

Grades 9-12, mark your calendar for the Winter Formal Dance on December 30th, 2022. Tickets will start being sold the week before winter break, or at the door.

The MC Academy is sponsoring a Food Drive during the month of November and start of December with all food items being donated for Christmas food assistance through the Rex Amburn Memorial Food Drive within the MC Community. This year’s annual food drive will be a COMPETITION between grades 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and the teachers & staff.
–This year the teachers & staff will have a box to contribute toward the competition.
–You need to bring in the listed item of the day to get a point for that day.
–For each food item you donate to your grade’s box your class will receive one (1) point.
–For each dollar you donate to your grade’s jar your class will receive one (1) point.
–If you donate an item that is not on the list for that day to another grade’s box they will lose a point.
–The class with the most points will win a prize for each student.

Monroe Central Jr. High girls won Monday night against Driver Middle School 41-39. It was an exciting game against a very good 8th grade team. Everyone on the team contributed to the win. Brynlee Patterson led the team with 16 points, Olivia Conklin followed with 14, Aberee Ervin had 7, and both Haidyn Dumpert and Oaklei Davis contributed with 2 points each. Following the 8th grade game there was an extra quarter played for the 7th grade, Monroe Central won 4-2. Leading the way was Abby Thomas and Charlee Morris.

The Monroe Central Boys 7th grade basketball moved to 2-1 after a 47-34 vs. Driver. Another strong second half and great teamwork propelled the Bears to their second win of the year. Luke Morgan led the Bears with 25, while Peyton Chamness added 8, Weston Grove with 5, and Myles Oliphant with 3. The Bears return to action next Monday on the road at Daleville.

The 8th grade boys were defeated by Driver last night 50 to 34. The Bears cut a 14 point halftime lead in half by the end of the 3rd quarter but couldn’t get any closer. The Bears were led by Pierceton Erwin with 17 points. Next up the Bears travel to Daleville on Monday night .
