Grades 9-12, mark your calendar for the Winter Formal Dance on December 30th, 2022. Tickets will start being sold the week before winter break, or at the door.
The MC Academy is sponsoring a Food Drive during the month of November and start of December with all food items being donated for Christmas food assistance through the Rex Amburn Memorial Food Drive within the MC Community. This year’s annual food drive will be a COMPETITION between grades 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and the teachers & staff.
–This year the teachers & staff will have a box to contribute toward the competition.
–You need to bring in the listed item of the day to get a point for that day.
–For each food item you donate to your grade’s box your class will receive one (1) point.
–For each dollar you donate to your grade’s jar your class will receive one (1) point.
–If you donate an item that is not on the list for that day to another grade’s box they will lose a point.
–The class with the most points will win a prize for each student.
Below is a list for each day. This list will be available in the cafeteria as well.

The Monroe Central boys basketball team came up on the short end last Tuesday night against county rival Winchester 51-37. The Bears led in scoring by Alden Mahaffey and Easton Foster with 11 points apiece. Josiah Cleveland chipped in 10.
The boys varsity basketball team went to Northeastern Saturday night and lost 57-28. Leading scorer for the bears was Alden Mahaffey with 11. Alden also added 9 rebounds. Hayden Taylor added 6 points also.
The Monroe Central Lady Bears grinded out a tough win on the road Saturday @ Northeastern. The Bears pulled out a 39-37 victory with an offensive rebound by Addy Puckett who found Kimber Abshear for a last second layup. Kimber Abshear led the Bears with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 8 blocks. Audrey Keeley and Mayleigh Ervin played a huge role in the victory as well, combining for 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Lady Bears are now 5-1 on the season and play again on Wednesday November 30 @ home against Union City.
