Daily Announcements 12/05/2022

Lunch Reminders – Students at lunch should be in one of three locations – the Cafeteria, the Main Gym, or the Restrooms by the Cafeteria. Students do not need to be in other hallways, locker areas, etc. during lunch time unless granted permission by a cafeteria supervisor.

There will be a blood drive on December 13th at the high school. Please schedule your appointment at www.donortime.com.

Softball open gym will be starting on December 7th. Please pick up a flier in the office for more information.

Grades 9-12, mark your calendar for the Winter Semi-Formal Dance on December 30th, 2022. Tickets will be sold during lunch starting on December 12th or can be purchased at the door the night of the dance. Ticket cost is $15 per couple or $8 for a single.

The MC Academy is sponsoring a Food Drive with all food items being donated for Christmas food assistance through the Rex Amburn Memorial Food Drive within the MC Community. This year’s annual food drive will be a COMPETITION between grades 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and the teachers & staff.
–You need to bring in the listed item of the day to get a point for that day.
–For each food item you donate to your grade’s box your class will receive one (1) point.
–For each dollar you donate to your grade’s jar your class will receive one (1) point.
–If you donate an item that is not on the list for that day to another grade’s box they will lose a point.
–The class with the most points will win a prize for each student.
Below is a list for each day. This list will be available in the cafeteria as well.
Tuesday, Dec 6- Mixed Vegetables
Wednesday, Dec 7- Carrots
Thursday, Dec 8- Green beans

The boys varsity basketball team lost to Daleville Friday night 50-29. The bears played hard and fought to the end. The Bears got good minutes out of Jackson Konkle for his first varsity action. They also got good play out of Carter Duncan. The bears were led in scoring by Josiah Cleveland with 11 points followed by Easton Foster with 9 points and 12 rebounds. The Bears next game is Saturday at Wes-Del.

The JV lady Bears lost on a late 3 pointer to Winchester Saturday night. The final score was 13-10 in favor of the Falcons. The Bears were led in scoring by Riu with 4 points. Avery Thomas, Aubrey Johnson and Sophia Bolton each had 2 points. The Bears are home Tuesday night versus Shenandoah.
