All library books are due Monday, December 19th before leaving for Christmas Break. Students who do not return borrowed books will be charged a fine.
Officer Parker has created a “See Something, Say Something” form for students to complete in order to create an anonymous way for students to report school safety concerns to us. That form has been put in Schoology and will likely be added to the website as well. Lunch Reminders – Students at lunch should be in one of three locations – the Cafeteria, the Main Gym, or the Restrooms by the Cafeteria. Students do not need to be in other hallways, locker areas, etc. during lunch time unless granted permission by a cafeteria supervisor.
The MCHS National Honor Society will be sponsoring a blood drive on December 13th. If you are at least 16 years of age or older, please consider giving a blood donation. You can sign up for an appointment at www.donortime.com. 16 year olds will need to get a parent consent form from the office.
Softball open gym will be starting on December 7th. Please pick up a flier in the office for more information.
Grades 9-12, mark your calendar for the Winter Semi-Formal Dance on December 30th, 2022. Tickets will be sold during lunch starting on December 12th or can be purchased at the door the night of the dance. Ticket cost is $15 per couple or $8 for a single.
The MC Academy is sponsoring a Food Drive with all food items being donated for Christmas food assistance through the Rex Amburn Memorial Food Drive within the MC Community. This year’s annual food drive will be a COMPETITION between grades 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and the teachers & staff.
–You need to bring in the listed item of the day to get a point for that day.
–For each food item you donate to your grade’s box your class will receive one (1) point.
–For each dollar you donate to your grade’s jar your class will receive one (1) point.
–If you donate an item that is not on the list for that day to another grade’s box they will lose a point.
–The class with the most points will win a prize for each student.

The Lady Bears fell to 6-2 on the season Saturday night at Winchester. The Falcons handed the bears a 61-23 defeat. The Lady a bears were led by Sydney Patterson with 12 points and Audrey Keeley led the team on the defensive end with 9 rebounds. The Bears look to bounce back this week at home on Tuesday against Shenandoah.
Monroe Central Jr. High girls lost a hard fought game against Yorktown Middle School 25-27. The Lady Bears fought hard to the very end. Brynlee Patterson led with 9 points and 4 steals, Aberee Ervin followed with 6 points and 6 steals, Olivia Conklin had 5 points and 4 steals, and Oaklei Davis contributed 5 points 4 steals and 10 rebounds. After the 8th grade game there were two quarters played for the 7th grade teams, the Lady Bears lost 9-17. Brynlee Patterson led the team with 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal.
The 8th grade boys got their second win of the season last night 35 to 25 over Muncie South. After suffering 2 one point losses last week the Bears extended a 4 point halftime lead to get the 10 point win. The Bears were led by Pierceton Erwin and Caden Dance with 14 and 11 respectively. Maddox Taylor chipped in 8. Next action is Thursday night when we host Selma.
