We are getting to the end of the food drive and would like to put a spin on things!!! On Friday please bring in any item of food and place it in another class box. These items will be subtracted from that class total amount. If you bring in money and it is placed in your class container, it will be added to your class points. This will be the last day to contribute through this food drive. Let’s Go BEARS!!
The FFA is having their December Chapter meeting and Christmas Party this Thursday, December 8th at 6:30 pm. We will be having our cookie decorating contest, make Christmas cards for Parker Health Care and prepare for upcoming CDE’s and LDE’s. Please sign up in room 150 or 155. Hope to see you there!
There will be a callout meeting Friday during LITE period in Hall Gym for any boys and girls grades 9-12 interested in Varsity Track & Field. If you cannot make it, please message Coach Veatch on Schoology.
All library books are due Monday, December 19th before leaving for Christmas Break. Students who do not return borrowed books will be charged a fine.
Officer Parker has created a “See Something, Say Something” form for students to complete in order to create an anonymous way for students to report school safety concerns to us. That form has been put in Schoology and will likely be added to the website as well. Lunch Reminders – Students at lunch should be in one of three locations – the Cafeteria, the Main Gym, or the Restrooms by the Cafeteria. Students do not need to be in other hallways, locker areas, etc. during lunch time unless granted permission by a cafeteria supervisor.

The MCHS National Honor Society will be sponsoring a blood drive on December 13th. If you are at least 16 years of age or older, please consider giving a blood donation. You can sign up for an appointment at www.donortime.com. 16 year olds will need to get a parent consent form from the office.
Softball open gym will be starting on December 7th. Please pick up a flier in the office for more information.
Grades 9-12, mark your calendar for the Winter Semi-Formal Dance on December 30th, 2022. Tickets will be sold during lunch starting on December 12th or can be purchased at the door the night of the dance. Ticket cost is $15 per couple or $8 for a single.
The Monroe Central 7th grade boys basketball team defeated Muncie Southside Monday night by a score of 49-32 to improve to 5-2 on the season. A strong first half put the Bears up early in the game, and great defense limited the Panthers to only 9 points at the half. Great teamwork and hustle helped the Bears get their 5th win on the year. The Bears were led in scoring by Luke Morgan with 31, Weston Grove with 8, and Myles Oliphant with 5. The Bears return to action on Thursday at home against Selma.
The Lady Bears picked up their 7th win on the season defeating Shenandoah 54-32. Sydney Patterson paced the offense with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Kimber Abshear followed with 18 points and 17 rebounds on the night. The Bears are now 7-2 on the season and travel to Yorktown on Thursday to battle the tigers.
The JV lady Bears defeated Shenandoah 14-5. The Bears were led by Aubrey Johnson with 5 points, Riu chipped in 4 points, Gracie Baker hit a 3 and Sophia Bolton had 2. The Bears travel to Yorktown Thursday.
The Golden Bears lost as we were only able to fill 6 of 14 weight classes. This led to giving up 36 points in forfeits. Final score was Tri 48 and MC 20. Winning by pin were Zac Martin @ 145, Kolten Tinsman @ 195 and Hunter Page @ 220 keeping all 3 undefeated so far on the season along with Cade Goodrich who won by decision and also remained undefeated on the season. MC competes at Richmond High this Saturday.
