Daily Announcements 12/12/2022

The girls and boys County Basketball Tournament will be held at Union City on January 4th-7th. Presale all session tickets are available December 12th-21st and January 3rd-4th in the high school office from 8am-3pm. All session tickets cost $15 and are good for all 4 nights of the tournament. Single session tickets purchased at the door will be $7.

Softball open gyms are Tuesday and Wednesday this week from 7:30-9p in Main Gym.

Jostens will be here Friday, December 16th to distribute class rings and will also be accepting last minute cap and gown orders from seniors.

Attention 8th grade National Junior Honor Society Members: Please check your schoology messages as you have received a message from Mr. Johnson that contains your ballot to vote for NJHS officers.

All library books are due Monday, December 19th before leaving for Christmas Break. Students who do not return borrowed books will be charged a fine.

Officer Parker has created a “See Something, Say Something” form for students to complete in order to create an anonymous way for students to report school safety concerns to us. That form has been put in Schoology and will likely be added to the website as well. The MCHS National Honor Society will be sponsoring a blood drive on December 13th. If you are at least 16 years of age or older, please consider giving a blood donation. You can sign up for an appointment at www.donortime.com. 16 year olds will need to get a parent consent form from the office.

Grades 9-12, mark your calendar for the Winter Semi-Formal Dance on December 30th, 2022. Tickets will be sold during lunch starting on December 12th or can be purchased at the door the night of the dance. Ticket cost is $15 per couple or $8 for a single.

The boys varsity basketball team traveled to Wes-Del on Saturday night and lost a hard fought game 65-40. The bears just could not overcome the hot shooting of Wes-Del to make a run to close the gap. Alden Mahaffey and Easton Foster led the Bears in scoring with 10 points apiece. Freshman Jackson Konkle was a bright spot with 9 points in his first career start.
The Bears next game is Friday at Lapel.

MC wrestling finished 1-4 as a team, defeating Lawrenceburg and losing to Franklin County, Decatur Central, Union County and Hagerstown. Individually – 145 Zac Martin 3-2, 160 Cade Goodrich 3-2, 220 Clay Smith 3-2, 195 Kolten Tinsman 4-1, And winning 182 Hunter Page 5-0 winning all 5 matches by first period pin. The Golden Bears are back in action at home Tuesday 12/13 against Wapahani at 6pm
