After school tutoring will start on Tuesday, January 10th.
The January FFA chapter meeting will be Wednesday Jan. 11th afterschool at 3:30 pm. Come to the meeting and help be a part of 2023!
The Lady Bears were defeated in the Semi-Final round of the Randolph County Tournament on Friday night 51-37. The Bears out scored the Falcons for the final 3 quarters of the game 30-29 but could not bounce back after the Falcons 15-0 run to close out the 1st quarter. Kimber Abshear led the Bears with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Sydney Patterson added 8 pts, Audrey Keeley chipped in with 7 and Addy Puckett followed with 6pts. The Lady Bears are back at Home this week on Wednesday night against Union and Thursday night against Muncie Central.
The boys basketball team faced county rival Winchester Saturday night for the county championship on the line. The Bears took the lead early in the 1st quarter and never relinquished the lead. It was tied a few times in the 3rd quarter but the Bears took the lead to start the 4th quarter. Winchester cut the lead to 2 with just over a minute left. Blake Bouge and Cole Munchel made some huge free throws to extend the lead. Easton Foster’s dunk with 49 seconds left sealed the game for the Bears. Bears win 50-44. County Champs! Cole Munchel scored a game high 26 points and 6 rebounds. Easton Foster scored 8. Blake Bogue and Hayden Taylor each added 7 points apiece. Coach Milton after the game said the boys played hard and executed the game plan to a T. The boys next game is Friday at home against conference foe Shenandoah.
Grappling Golden Bears only lost 4 actual matches as individuals helping the team to finish 5-3. Team results are MC defeating: Blackford 36-24, East Central B 36-24, Hagerstown 34-30, Cambridge City Lincoln 36-18 and Batesville 31-30 and losing to: Union County 30-42, Eastern Hancock 33-42, and Franklin County 18-60. Individual results: @145 Zac Martin 8-0 (5 pins), @170 Jerimiah Ullom 8-0 (4 pins), @182 Hunter Page 8-0 (4 pins), @195 Jacobe Butler 7-1, @220 Kolton Tinsman 7-1 (1 pin), and @160 Cade Goodrich 6-2 (3 pins).
