The grades 9-12 2023 homecoming court consists of the following students: Freshmen: Sophia Bolton and Max Wagner, Sophomores: Addy Puckett and Carter Duncan, Juniors: Maggie Haney and Hayden Taylor, Senior girls: Elizabeth Croy, Audrey Keeley, Carol Anne Kritsch and Karly Puckett, Senior boys: Blake Bogue, Luke Jones, Cole Munchel, and Elijah Taylor. The 7th and 8th grade will be announced later this week.
There will be a HS Academic Fine Arts team call out and first practice, today after school until 4pm.

Any student who hasn’t picked up their yearbook yet, please see Mr. Sims in room 108.

Monroe Central’s C team suffered their first loss of the season 40-33 on the road to Union City. The young Bears learned valuable lessons about shot selection and decision making in the loss. Griffin Gannom led Monroe Central with 14 points. Cohen West and Kyler Bogue chipped in 7 points and 5 points respectively. Monroe Central is 2-1 on the season with their next game being on the road at Richmond on January 17th

Monroe Central Jr. High girls won Wednesday night 57-25 against Selma Middle School during the first game of the MEC tournament. Aberee Ervin leading the way with 15 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals, Oaklei Davis added 14 points, 19 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks, Brynlee Patterson contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals, Brylie Tinsman added 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal, Abby Thomas added 5 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal, Haidyn Dumpert had 4 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.

The Lady Bears defeated the Union Rockets last night 59-34. The Bears had 10 players find their way into the scoring column last night including having 3 players in double figures. Kimber Abshear led all Bear scorers with 15 points, Sydney Patterson scored 12 and Audrey Keely notched 10 points in the win. The Lady Bears are now 8-8 on the season and play Muncie Central tonight at Home with a 7pm Varsity only start time.
