Law Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week – Thank you Officer Parker for all that you are doing to keep Monroe Central Jr.-Sr. High School safe and a positive working and learning environment for our staff and students. We also want to send appreciation to Mr. Ferguson, who also serves in a law enforcement role outside of his role as SS teacher here.

8th grade: Kloee Brannan and Isaiah Patterson.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors: All MACC applications must be turned into student services by Wednesday, January 18th. If you do not have your application turned in by this date, it will be taken out of your schedule for next school year. Please stop by student services for applications and information.

Reminder: There will be no school on Monday, January 16th, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Any student who hasn’t picked up their yearbook, please see Mr. Sims in room 108.

Monroe Central Jr. High girls won Thursday night against Wes-Del 56-7. Brynlee Patterson led the way with 20 points, 3 steals, and 1 rebound, Aberee Ervin added 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals, Olivia Conklin contributed with 13 points, and 7 steals, Charlee Morris added 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals, Callie Rowe added 2 points, and 3 rebounds, Brylie Tinsman also added 2 points, 1 rebound, and 1 steal. Oaklei Davis contributed with 8 rebounds, and 5 steals. There was an extra quarter played after the regular game for the 7th graders, Lady Bears won 2-0.

The Monroe Central 7th grade boys basketball team defeated the Cowan Blackhawks Thursday night by a score of 31-26 in the MEC Quarterfinals to advance to the MEC Semifinals on Saturday. Luke Morgan led the Bears in scoring with 16, while Westin Grove added 8 and Peyton Chamness added 5. The Bears move to 11-3 and will play Wes-Del Saturday morning at Blue River.

The 8th grade boys lost a hard fought game to Cowan last night in the MEC tournament 42 to 37. The game was close throughout with neither team able to pull away. The Bears effort throughout the game was as good as it has been all year. A balanced scoring effort was led by Pierceton Erwin with 10 followed by Conner Baker and Caden Dance with 9 each and Maddox Taylor with 8. The Bears return to the court on Tuesday night for their final home game of the season against Northeastern.

The Lady Bears defeated the Muncie Central Bearcats last night 40-27. Sydney Patterson lead the Bears in scoring with 16 points, Kimber Abshear tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds and Audrey Keeley scored 9 points in the winning effort. The Lady Bears are now 9-8 on the season.
