Grades 9-12: The link to vote for the 2023 homecoming king and queen is now on schoology. Voting will stop Wednesday the 25th.

Sophomores, class of 2025 may stay after school Thursday and Friday nights (this week) to work on homecoming.

Attention Junior High Students – The MC Varsity Cheerleaders will be hosting a clinic for students in grades K-8 for all students who may have an interest in cheerleading. The clinic will be held on Saturday, January 28 with registration beginning at 9:00 a.m. The clinic will conclude at 12:30 p.m. Participants will also cheer at the Boys JV/V basketball game that evening. Cost for the clinic is $30.00. Registration forms may be picked up in the office and need to be completed ASAP as t-shirts have to be ordered.

On Saturday February 11th, from 8AM to 4PM, the Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball Invitational will be held at Monroe Central High School. Special Olympics is looking for volunteers in various opportunities such as being a referee, score keeping, runners, clean up, concessions, etc. If you’re interested in volunteering, all day or half day, please see Mrs. Wines in Room 144 to sign up.

Last night, the Golden Bears Varsity Wrestlers split going 1-1 defeating Richmond and losing to Oak Hill. Individual Results, 170 Jerimiah Ullom went 2-0 running season record to 15-0, 182 Hunter Page went 1-0 running season record to 26-0, 195 Kolten Tinsman went 2-0 earning his 23rd win, 182 Jacobe Butler went 1-0 earning his 13th win, 145 Zac Martin went 1-1 earning his 18th win, 160 Cade Goodrich went 1-1 earning his 21st victory, And returning to line up Clay Smith goes 1-1 @220 to earn his 5th victory. The Golden Bears compete at Daleville Saturday in the MEC tournament.

The Monroe Central Lady Bears were defeated by the Wapahani Raiders 39-33. The Bears were led by Kimber Abshear with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Sydney Patterson added 7 points and Audrey Keeley had 5 points to go along with 7 rebounds. The Lady Bears are now 9-9 on the season and will host Cowan on 1/19 to celebrate their annual breast cancer awareness night. Everyone is encouraged to wear pink to the game.

The JV girls returned to action on Wednesday with a hard fought loss at Wapahani 19-16. Gracie Baker led the Bears with 8 points, Riu and Aubrey Johnson added 3 each. Sophia Bolton added 2.
