On Saturday 3/18/23, Monroe Central will be hosting the Sectionals for Special Olympics basketball from 9AM to 4PM. Volunteers are needed for the following: referees, table captains, scorekeepers, runners, clean up and so much more so if you’re interested in volunteering, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 for more details. Any help is appreciated!
Seniors: Please check your Schoology Class of 2023 group for current senior information. This will include your Graduation Speaker Google Form, Senior Superlatives as well as the Senior book pages with a wallet sized senior photo. The due dates for each are as follows:
- Wednesday. March 8th— Graduation Speaker Google form due
- Monday, March 13th–Senior Superlatives Google form due
- Friday, April 14th–Senior book pages due w/ wallet size senior picture
- Friday, April 14th–All photos for the Senior Slideshow (Graduation) are due to KP. You may submit them to him via his school email : kylep@monroecentral.org ; OR bring photos in to Becky & Brook. They will see that he gets the photos for the slideshow.

We will have a DC parent meeting about the Washington DC Trip for current 7th and 8th grade students on Thursday, March 9 from 5:30-6:30 PM in the high school library. We will go over general information on the trip, discuss fundraising options, and explain how to register. If you have any questions please email Mr. Ragan at nicholasr@monroecentral.org. The trip will be in the Fall of 2023 and is open to students in the class of 2027 or 2028! This meeting is for parents to attend, students do not need to attend the meeting.
The “Put your teacher in Jail” fundraiser has started! Containers will be on the stage during lunch with teacher’s names on them. Whichever teacher collects the most money will be “put in jail” and will not be able to be in the classroom on Thursday, March 16th.
Current Juniors/Class of 2024 – The Randolph County Youth Leadership Council is hosting the 39th Annual Randolph County Youth Salute. This initiative recognizes students who have shown leadership skills and/or scholastic achievement. There is also the potential of receiving scholarships. To qualify for the Leadership Salute, you must have served in a position of leadership in school, church or other community organization within the last three years.
To qualify for the Scholastic Achievement Citation, you must have met the criteria for the Leadership salute PLUS be in the top ten percent (10%) in your class scholastically.
Nomination forms are available in Student Services and must be submitted to Student Services by March 16th, 2023.
JH Track & Field practices will begin on March 13th. They will meet in the cafeteria.
The teachers’ association is selling beef sticks before and after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will be outside room 110 each morning selling and in her room (115) after school.
