Prom Grand March will be at the high school on Saturday starting at 4pm. Doors will unlock at 3:30pm.

Anyone interested in cheerleading is welcome to come to the tryout clinic on Thursday after school to learn the tryout materials. Tryouts will be on Saturday at 10am. 

Juniors/Seniors – The parents of the Class of 2024 want to invite you to After Prom – it will be held at the Northwest YMCA in Muncie from 11:30 – 2 am following Prom. You may enter as early as 11:15, and must arrive before 12:00. There will be pickleball, basketball, a Nerf Zone, games, food and door prizes – admission is free!!! Some of the door prizes include a round of golf at Hickory Hills, gift baskets, and gift cards to Chipotle, Target, Taco Bell and LOTS MORE!!!

“Bear Necessities is sponsoring an Extra Prep for Teachers contest this week during LITE time.  Donate coins or cash to your LITE teacher – they have collection envelopes!  The top-earning Junior High and High School classes will earn popcorn and a movie during Friday’s LITE this week.  Their teachers receive EXTRA PREP time on Friday, too, during LITE period!  *If a senior class wins, then we’ll bump the reward for that class to next week!” 

Yearbooks for the 2022-2023 school year are still being sold. Thanks to a community donation, one student who orders before May 22 will be drawn to receive a FREE YEARBOOK. Attention Students Taking Edmentum Classes – As we begin to wrap up the school year, here are some deadline dates for you.  All teacher-graded activities, projects, discussions, etc. must be finished by 3:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023.  All learning modules, mastery tests, unit tests, and semester tests that are graded by Edmentum must be completed by 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.  Students who do not complete Edmentum courses will be enrolled in Summer School.  Please see Mr. Retherford or Mrs. Moran if you have any questions.

The teachers’ association is selling beef sticks before and after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will be outside room 110 each morning selling and in her room (115) after school.

JH golf lost to Shenandoah 125 to 119. Top scores were Cooper Huston: 26, Charlee Morris: 32, 

Case Chalfant: 34, Elijah King: 35, Hogan Hendrickson: 36

The Varsity Golfing Bears hosted Delta at Hickory Hills on Wednesday. The Bears lost the match 185-166. The Bears were led by Bentley Thornburg with a 44 and Cohen West, Coltan West, and Hayden Taylor finished with a 47. The Bears will be back in action Thursday at Hickory Hills taking on Union City in a weekday match.

Monroe Central let this one get away from them today. Some defensive miscues, poor abs, and some timely hitting by Richmond put the Golden Bears in a hole they couldn’t climb out of. The Bears get a few needed days off before they play 4 games in 4 days starting Monday.
