Daily Announcements 9/27/2023

There will be wrestling open mats for High School and Jr High on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 pm.

Open field for students interested in playing softball are open to any student in grades 7-12 and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6p while the weather allows.

Any 7th or 8th grade student who is interested in being part of the 2023-24 MC Jr. High Robotics Team needs to complete the application form and submit by the end of the day on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The form should be located in Schoology under Science.

The Senior Trip will be May 5th-7th, 2024 and we will be going to Cincinnati – including a day at Kings Island and 2 nights at Great Wolf Lodge. Total cost for the trip is $300 and a $20 deposit is due to Ms. Summers by Wednesday, October 4th. If you have any questions or need additional information see Ms. Summers, Grant Rees or Addison Coe.

School Picture Retake Day is scheduled for the morning of October 5th. If you are in need of retakes or missed the original picture day, please plan to have your photo taken on this date. Any questions may be directed to Mr. Sims.

Interested in Archery Club? Please stop by the office and pick up a registration form with information about the season. Registration forms are due back to the office by October 6th.

The Monroe Central Scholarship Fund, Inc. Sadie Hawkins/Halloween Dance will be Saturday, October 28th from 7 pm to 10 pm. Dance request forms will be due back to the school no later than Wednesday, October 25th. Students not from Monroe Central will need to bring a student ID with them.  Crabtree Photography will be taking pictures. After school help will be every Tuesday and Thursday. This is for all grades and all subjects. It will be held in room 118 for the next two weeks.

MCCTA is still selling beef sticks before school and after school in the junior high and high school hallways (outside room 110) and in Mrs. Van Pelt’s room.

The Monroe Central Cross Country teams swept the Randolph County meet.  All four teams, Jr High and High School, Boys and Girls, came in 1st place.  Jr High team scores for the Girls were: MC 16, Union City 62, Driver 79, and Randolph Southern 80.  Boys scores were: MC 28, Driver 44, Randolph Southern 57. Abree Ervin defended her County title, coming in 1st place for the second year in a row with a time of 12:51.  Abby Thomas finished 2nd at 12:58 and Brylie Tinsman 3rd at 13:06.  Brynlee Patterson came in 6th place.  Oaklie Davis finished in 23rd place.  Charlee Morris and Megan DeVoss finished 26th and 28th.  Cheyenne Fortreide ran a great race, finishing 33rd.  Makayla Daniels and finished 37th.  Avery Kehoe finished 40th.  Haidyn Dumpert finished with a PR time and in 43rd place. Jed Ferguson ran a great race, coming in 3rd overall at 11:15, followed by Alexander Coe in 4th place at 11:34.  Devin Baker came in 22nd. Great job Bears!!
