There will be a call-out meeting for any high school student interested in participating in this year’s Poetry Out Loud program. The meeting will be on Tuesday, November 28th during study hall in Mrs. Braswell’s room.

The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) will be selling granola bars instead of beef sticks. They are 2 bars for $1.
Monroe Central freshman basketball lost its season opener 38-27 to Wes-Del. Caden Dance led the Bears in scoring with 11 points, Maddox Taylor added 7 points with Corbin Lester and Piercteton Erwin each chipping in 3 points. Chandler Breedlove added 2 points and Issac Middleton rounded out the scoring with 1 point. Corbin Lester, Caden Dance, and Wade Dawson were all cited with good defensive efforts. The Bears are back in action next Monday at Yorktown.
The Monroe Central 8th Grade Boys Basketball team defeated Daleville Monday night by a score of 33-31 to improve to 2-2 on the season. Great hustle and all around team effort helped the Bears down the stretch. The Bears were led in scoring by Luke Morgan with 15 and Myles Oliphant with 13. Cooper Huston was also tremendous on the boards. The Bears return to action Wednesday night at Hagerstown.
The Monroe Central 7th Grade Boys Basketball team hosted Daleville on Monday the Golden Bears won, 44-14. A great all around team effort fueled the Bears all night, as they started the season out 3-1. The Bears were led in scoring by Dallas Frantz with 16 points, Miles Gross with 14 points, and Alex Middleton had 8. The Bears return to action Wednesday against a very good Hagerstown team.
