The varsity wrestling team wrestled against Blackford last night. Final results were Blackford 42 and Monroe Central 36. Winners for your Golden Bear grapplers were @ 113 Mac Brainerd, 120 Lane Whitehead, 132 Gavyn Swoveland, 138 Cory Brown, 157 Zac Martin and 190 Jerimiah Ullom.  Great gains were made in this Dual even in the loss as we are currently made up of 8 freshmen and 6 first yr wrestlers.  Team victories will come with additional varsity experience as for now they are staying positive and continuing to grind as they improve. 

The 8th grade Lady Bears were on fire Tuesday night with a big win against conference foe Shenandoah.  The Lady Bears torched the nets for 32pts in the first half, while their stifling defense held their opponent to only 7 first half pts.  When the final buzzer sounded the Lady Bears came out victorious with a final score of 45-14.  Abree Ervin had a great night with 15 pts, all in the first half, to go along with 9 steals,  Brynlee Patterson scored 8 pts while dishing out 3 assists to her teammates, Oaklei Davis got the team pumped up with winning the jump ball that led to a quick bucket, she added 7pts and 4 rebounds.  Charlee Morris played tough while scoring 6 pts. and adding a game high 5 rebounds.  Brylie Tinsman came off the bench to get 5 steals to add to her 6pts.  Abby Thomas swished a 3 pointer, while Hayden Dumpert, Lillian Konkle, and Kayleigh Epperhart played a solid game while helping push the team to a 2-0 record to start the season.
