For just $1, you can ditch the traditional school attire and swap it for your favorite festive PJs. That’s right, we’re giving you the chance to roll out of bed and head straight to school in comfort while supporting a great cause!

But wait, there’s more! All proceeds from this festive fundraiser will go directly to our incredible Academic Team, helping them achieve even greater heights of success. By participating, you not only get to enjoy a day of ultimate comfort but also contribute to the growth and success of our academic stars.

The girls and boys County Basketball Tournament will be held at Union on January 3rd-6th, 2024. Presale all session tickets are being sold from December 11th-20th in the high school office from 8am-3pm and on January 3rd from 8am-noon. All session tickets cost $15 and can be used all 4 nights of the tournament. Single session tickets purchased at the door will be $7.
On Saturday January 13th, from 8AM to 4PM, the Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball Invitational will be held at Monroe Central High School. Special Olympics is looking for volunteers in various opportunities such as being a referee, score keeping, runners, clean up, concessions, etc. If you’re interested in volunteering, all day or half day, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 or send a Schoology to sign up.
Due to low participation in donations for the food drive the rewards (bear bar & capri sun) will not be given unless we reach a goal of 300 cans of food donated. Please join the competition and donate towards the food drive to help the families in need.
There will be photos with Santa on December 17th from 1pm – 3pm @ 101 S. Main Street, Parker City. Cost is $20 for a 10 minute slot or you can walk-in. Contact Delk Photography on Facebook or call 765-625-0439. All proceeds go to the MCE Cheerleaders.
On Dec. 18th, Monroe Central FFA will be hosting our chapter Christmas party. The party will start at 4:00 pm. Wear your favorite Christmas sweater! Join in on the cookie decorating contest, and Santa will be there! We can’t wait to see you all there!
The Monroe Central FCA is selling FCA T-shirts for $15 each. Everyone is welcome to get a shirt, even your parents, siblings, and grandparents. Order forms will be in the office and are due with money on Friday, December 15. Checks should be made out to Monroe Central High School. If you have questions, talk to KP or a FCA leader.
Senior Shirt Information is posted in Schoology – students can order individually via the link. The shirts will be delivered to the school and distributed when we return from Christmas break (January 4th).
The 8th grade math lab class is hosting the annual Food Drive for Parker City/Randolph County. There will be some friendly competition between:
7th vs. 8th grade
9th vs. 10th grade
11th vs. 12th grade
Each student in the winning classes will receive a bear bar and capri sun. The food drive will run from Monday, 12/4/23 through Friday, 12/15/23. Please help those in need by donating non-perishable food and money during these dates. Each can of food is worth 1 point. Each donated dollar is worth 1 point.

The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) is selling granola bars, 2 bars for $1.
The Monroe Central 8th Grade Boys Basketball team defeated rival Selma Thursday night by a score of 49-39. The Bears started hot out the gate and never looked back, leading by as many as 24. Great all around team effort on the glass and offensive efficiency were key factors in the Bears victory. The Bears were led offensively by Luke Morgan with 33 points and Myles Oliphant with 12. Peyton Chamness, Eli Friend, Jed Ferguson, Casen Morris, Gabe McComb and Cooper Huston all made huge contributions for the Bears on both ends of the floor as well. The Bears (4-4) return to Hall Gym on Monday against county foe Union City with a 6:00 7th grade tip time.
The Golden Bear grapplers continued to make great strides as they finished 2nd out of 8 teams on Saturday, defeating Northeastern 48-36, Union County 48-23, Richmond 45-31, and Hagerstown 57-24. The only loss was to Lawrenceberg due to a tiebreaker criteria changing the tied final score in their favor 36-37. This makes the team record 4-4 on the season. Tom Hill Weight Class Champions where @150 Zac Martin and @190 Jerimiah Ullom in addition we had 3 wrestlers finish 4-1 @120 Lane Whitehead, @138 Corey Brown, and @165 Christian Erwin. All our wrestlers battled and fought hard as they continued to improve. We are back on the mat this Wednesday @ Centerville. Remember GOOOOO BEARS!!!
The varsity boys basketball team beat the Wes-Del Warriors Saturday night, 49-39. Easton Foster led the bears with a double double, 17 points 13 rebounds 4 assists, Hayden Taylor added 9 points, Josiah Cleveland added 13 points off the bench. The bears next game is Tuesday at Muncie Burris
The JV Bears beat the Warriors Saturday night, 47-35. The Bears were led by Griffen Gannom with 11 points 7 rebounds and 7 steals, Justus Ullom added 8 points, Kyler Bogue and Cohen West and Josh Swearingen all added 7 points apiece. Swearingen also added 7 rebounds.
