Daily Announcements 05/20/2024

Attention, those interested in running high school cross country in the fall. There will be a parent and student/runner meeting on Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:00pm. We will meet outside at the south end of the track at the concession.

Monroe Central High School will be hosting IHSAA sports physicals on May 30th with Dr. Lumpkin. The cost is $20 and must be paid when signing up with Mrs. Murray in the HS office. 

Seniors: Graduation practice will take place Friday, May 31st at 9:00 a.m.  We will need everyone there that is planning to walk at graduation. Graduation picture order forms are in the office.

Juicy Jakes Smashburgers is looking for workers age 16 and older who want to work this summer. Applications available at 700 E McGalliard Rd, Muncie, IN 47303.

The Albany Vet Clinic will be hiring students for work this summer. Anyone interested needs to stop by the vet office and fill out an application.

There are many postings of scholarship opportunities, college events, apprenticeship programs, graduation requirement information and more. Do not miss out on an opportunity! The varsity softball team lost to the Wapahani Raiders Friday 14-4. The Bears came out hot scoring all four runs in the first three innings, but couldn’t keep the momentum going. Whitley Martin led the offense going 2-3 with a triple, 2 RBI, and a stolen base. Kloee Brannan and Ailey Moon each added a hit and a stolen base. The Bears face Wapahani again on Monday at 7:30p at Lapel for the first round of sectionals. 

The varsity boys golf team traveled to The Players Club on Saturday to play in the Muncie Invite with a loaded lineup of the top schools in Indiana. The Bears fired a 354 and finished 19th out of 22 teams. The Bears were led by Cohen West with an 86. Bentley Thornburg shot an 87. Coltan West finished with a 90 and Hayden Taylor rounded out the scoring with a 91. Rigley Braun finished with a 102. The Bears will have senior night on Tuesday against Wes-Del at Hickory Hills.
