Daily Announcements 12/03/2024

We will have a Crazy Christmas Dress Up day this Friday. Pay $1 and wear your best Christmas attire! Money collected will be given to the Rex Amburn food drive.

After school tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4pm in room 115 or 118.

The weight room will be open for students after school on Monday through Thursday each week from 3:15-4:15pm. 

5 Star Driver Education is offering driver education. Stop by the office to pick up an information sheet or go to www.fivestardrivered.com

Your Lady Golden Bears grappled their way to a 26th place finish out of 43 teams in a 2 day battle at Columbia City. Sophomore Melissa Rice battled and showed great improvement surviving until the 3 round. Sophomore Raegan Quattlebaum turned a corner going 4-2 and finishing 4th out of 32 behind the states top 3 ranked girls at 130. Following closely and continuing on her impressive season Sophomore Chelsea Erwin ran her season record to 11-3 going 5-2 and finishing 7th out of 32. 

The Freshman Golden Bears jumped out to an early lead with the first quarter score being 11-2 in favor of the Bears. The Golden Bears continued their defensive stand leading 21-5 at halftime. The Golden bears stayed in the driver seat for the second half, winning the game 40-19. The Freshman boys put in a great effort in all aspects of the game. The Golden Bears had a team effort in scoring: Myles Oliphant – 8, Eli Friend – 9, Peyton Chamness – 8, Weston Grove – 7, Jeb Ferguson – 4, Cooper Huston – 3, Gabe McComb – 1. 

The 8th grade golden bears went on the road to Daleville and picked up a good win. The boys started the game off a little slow but ended the half up 16-12. The boys struggled shooting the ball in the second half but were able to control the game with their defense and finish off winning 31-24. The team was led in scoring by Miles Gross with 13. He was followed by Braylynn Hunt with 11. The Golden Bears look to pick up another win this Wednesday vs Hagerstown at home. 

7th grade boys come away with a strong win after a slow start at Daleville 51-28. All of our Golden Bears contributed by playing exceptional defense along with every player scoring in the victory. Leading scorers were Leum Butler 15, Parker Morris 12, and Knox Myers 7.
