Homecoming Court Voting is posted in each class’s Schoology group. Voting will be open until today at 3pm.
There will be an FFA Chapter Meeting on Tuesday, January 28th! Come join us by signing the page on Mr. Weiler or Ms. Wimmer’s door for pizza and bingo.
Legacy week dress up days are as follows:
Thursday – Wear green and white for Green Township school corporation.
Friday – Wear brown and gold for Monroe Central school corporation.
The 2025 Winter Homecoming Dance will be after the boys JV/varsity basketball game on Friday, January 31st until 11PM. This dance is open to grades 7-12 and will cost $5 at the door. If you are bringing a guest who doesn’t go to our school we must have a signed dance request form back to the office by Wednesday, January 29th.
On Sunday February 2nd, from 10AM to 5PM, the annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball invitational will be held at Monroe Central High School. Special Olympics is looking for volunteers in various opportunities such as being a referee, score keeping, runners, clean up, concessions, etc. If you’re interested in volunteering, all day or half day, please send Mrs. Wines a message through Schoology or see her in room 144 to sign up.
After school tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4pm in room 115 or 118.
The weight room will be open for students after school on Monday through Thursday each week from 3:15-4:15pm.
5 Star Driver Education is offering driver education. Stop by the office to pick up an information sheet or go to www.fivestardrivered.com
The 7th grade boys basketball team started out very slow against Delta going into the half up 14-8. The second half was a battle falling behind and ending regulation tied at 29. The Bears fought hard going into double overtime and winning 42-34. Scoring for the Golden Bears Leum Butler 19, Knox Myers 11, Elijah Keeley 5, Ryder Slaven 4, and Parker Morris 3.
The 8th grade Golden bears got out to a slow start against Delta last night. The opposing Eagles took advantage of this and the deficit was too much to overcome. The Bears look to bounce back Thursday in their first round of the MEC tournament against Selma.
The Golden Bears had a great team win against Union City in the JV boys county championship game. The Golden Bears won the JV county championship game 53-18. All team members contributed in some statistics but any fan of Monroe Central should be extremely proud of the energy and enthusiasm that the Golden Bears played with.
The Golden Bears wrestling team defeated Madison Grant last night. Your Golden Bears celebrated the seniors and won the dual. Securing the win was sophomore Lane Whitehead who scored a first period pin. Other grapplers winning were Sophomores Grant Linville, Cory Brown Jr, Freshman Tyler Erwin, Corbin Taylor, Seniors Landon Tinsman, and Jerimiah Ullom. The Bears are back in action this Saturday at Winchester competing in the County meet.
