Bear Daily Announcements 02/19/2025

The Academic Team has had a successful season so far. The results from our last virtual meet (held on February 5) are in with first place wins from the Science Team and the Interdisciplinary Team. Individual Scorers in that meet are Andriana Johnson and Benjamin Combs tied for 3rd in Fine Arts, Benjamin Combs placing 3rd in Social Studies, Jayden Brown placing 2nd in Math, Andi Watson taking 1st in English with Andriana Johnson taking 3rd, and Jayden Brown placing first in Science with Monserrat Hernandez taking 3rd.

Last Night’s in-person meet was equally impressive with our Fine Arts and Social Studies Team placing 2nd and our Math, Science, and Interdisciplinary Teams placing 3rd against Daleville, Jay County, Wapahani, Winchester, and Union. Our next meet is our Conference meet at Knightstown on March 3!

Attention Seniors who are participating in any clubs/sports your senior year: Senior night will be on Tuesday, February 25th, between the JV and varsity boys basketball games against Union City. Please stop by the office and pick up a senior night form. Forms need to be returned to Mrs. Murray today. 

FFA Dress up days/activities for this week:

February 20, Thursday – Country vs. Country Club

February 21, Friday – Blue and Gold (shortened schedule for ag olympics)

There will be a Semi-Formal Sweetheart’s Dance on Saturday, February 22nd from 7p-10p. This dance is only open to grades 9-12 and will cost $10 for a single ticket or $15 for a couple’s ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the door. If you are bringing a guest who doesn’t go to our school we must have a signed dance request form back to the office by Wednesday, February 19th. 

Juniors: The Randolph County Youth Salute Nomination forms are now available in Student Services. To qualify for the Leadership Salute, a student must: 

  1. Be a high school junior (Class of 2026)
  2. Have served in a position of leadership in a school, church, or community-sponsored organization during the last three years

Please pick up a form in Student Services and reach out to a staff member for their nomination. All forms are due back to Student Services by March 3rd. Please see Mrs. Moran with any questions

JH Track will start on March 10th. They will meet after school in the high school cafeteria.  They will have practice Monday through Friday until they start having meets. Once the meets start they will not practice on Fridays.

There is an additional Second Harvest field trip for High School students on March 19th. If you would like to volunteer please sign up in student services or send Mrs. Antrim a schoology message.

5 Star Driver Education is offering driver education. Stop by the office to pick up an information sheet or go to www.fivestardrivered.com

After school tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4pm in room 115 or 118.
