Homecoming shirt fundraiser!  The Class of 2027 after prom is taking orders for 2024 homecoming shirts. We are taking orders until January 14 and shirts are only $12! After school tutoring will start back on Tuesday, January 23rd.

On Saturday January 13th, from 8AM to 4PM, the Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball Invitational will be held at Monroe Central High School. Special Olympics is looking for volunteers in various opportunities such as being a referee, score keeping, runners, clean up, concessions, etc. If you’re interested in volunteering, all day or half day, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 or send a Schoology to sign up. 

The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) is selling granola bars, 2 bars for $1.

The MC 7th grade Bears defeated the Blackford Bruins 49-29. The Bears were led in scoring by Miles Gross with 15, Dalas Frantz added 14, and Carter Lucies had 8. The bears will be back in action tomorrow at Daleville @ 5:30 pm for the first game of the MEC tournament. 

The Monroe Central 8th Grade Boys Basketball team was defeated Monday night vs Blackford. The game was tight all night, as the Bears battled back and forth with the Bruins, but ultimately falling to a very good Blackford team. The Bears were led in scoring by Luke Morgan with 30. The Bears return to action Tuesday night at Daleville in the first round of the MEC tournament.

Monroe Central boys JV basketball team punched their ticket into Tuesday’s championship game with a well played 69-54 team win over Union City. The Bears were led in scoring by Jackson Konkle’s 31 points. Joining Konkle in double figures were Griffin Gannom with 14 points and Kyler Bogue with 11 points. Cohen West added 5 points, Josh Swearingen with 4 points, Carter Wheatley 3 points, and Braylon Anderson rounded out the scoring with 1 point. Swearingen led a good rebounding effort with 11 rebounds. The Bears play Winchester tonight at Randolph Southern for the championship game at 7:30 PM.
