Class of 2025 will be staying after school Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week until 4:30 and next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday till 5pm. Please have your ride here by 4:30 this week and 5:00 next week. Please message Mrs. Meranda if you will be staying.
Homecoming shirt fundraiser! The Class of 2027 after prom is taking orders for 2024 homecoming shirts. We are taking orders until January 14 and shirts are only $12! After school tutoring will start back on Tuesday, January 23rd.
On Saturday January 13th, from 8AM to 4PM, the Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball Invitational will be held at Monroe Central High School. Special Olympics is looking for volunteers in various opportunities such as being a referee, score keeping, runners, clean up, concessions, etc. If you’re interested in volunteering, all day or half day, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 or send a Schoology to sign up.
The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) is selling granola bars, 2 bars for $1.
MC varsity wrestling loses to Marion by a score of 24 to 47. Winners for your Golden Bears by pin fall were Senior Zac Martin @150 and Freshman Gavyn Swoveland @132. Other winners were @106 freshman Maria Oliphant, @138 freshman Cory Brown and @190 Junior Jerimiah Ullom. Your Golden Bear wrestling team will be back in action at Union City this Saturday wrestling for the Randolph County Title. GO BEARS!
The Monroe Central 8th Grade Boys Basketball team moved past Daleville 51-28 in the opening round of the MEC tournament. The Bears started off hot against the Broncos, jumping out to a 15-2 lead, and never looked back. Great teamwork and hustle helped guide the Bears throughout the contest with everyone chipping in for the victory. The Bears were led in scoring by Luke Morgan with 26 and Weston Grove with 8. The Bears return to the hardwood on Thursday, as they travel to play Blue River in the quarterfinals of the MEC tournament.
Monroe Central JV boys improved their record to 8-3 with a 54-39 win over Winchester to earn the 2024 Randolph County Championship! Jackson Konkle followed up last night’s 20 point with a 20 point and multiple assist performance. Griff Gannom added 12 points and Josh Swearingen had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Carter Wheatley turned in a strong second half defensive performance and chipped in 7 points. Kyler Bogue and Isaac Middleton each had 2 points and Cohen West rounded out the scoring with 1 point. Nate Ludington gave valuable defensive and effort minutes off the bench along with Braylen Anderson. The Bears return to action Friday night on the road against Shenandoah.
