Homecoming dress up days for next week (January 16-19):

Tuesday – Tourist day

Wednesday – Dress like your parents day

Thursday – Dress for the ages (dress like any age)

Friday – Crazy brown and gold day

Class of 2025 will be staying after school Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week until 4:30 and next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday till 5pm. Please have your ride here by 4:30 this week and 5:00 next week.  Please message Mrs. Meranda if you will be staying.

Homecoming shirt fundraiser!  The Class of 2027 after prom is taking orders for 2024 homecoming shirts. We are taking orders until January 14 and shirts are only $12! After school tutoring will start back on Tuesday, January 23rd.

On Saturday January 13th, from 8AM to 4PM, the Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball Invitational will be held at Monroe Central High School. Special Olympics is looking for volunteers in various opportunities such as being a referee, score keeping, runners, clean up, concessions, etc. If you’re interested in volunteering, all day or half day, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 or send a Schoology to sign up. 

The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) is selling granola bars, 2 bars for $1.

Monroe Central’s C team improved their winning streak to three games with a home 33-30 win over Union City. Pierceton Erwin led a balanced scoring effort with 9 points followed by Maddox Taylor with 7 points. Isaac Middleton and Wade Dawson both chipped in 6 and Caden Dance rounded out the scoring with 5 points. The Bears are now 3-4 on the season.

The 8th grade Lady Bears began their run at an MEC Tournament Title with a Win against the Selma Braves.  After a slower than normal start in the first stanza the Lady Bears stretched their lead to 23pts at the halfway point on to a final score of 43-16. Brynlee Patterson led the team with 5 assists on the evening, Haidyn Dumpert had 5 rebounds with a couple assists. The team was led in scoring by Aberee Ervin with 22 pts. and 6 steals on the night. Charles Morris dropped 11 pts, Oaklei Davis had 6 rebounds and a couple of buckets, Brylie Tinsman scored 4pts, Abby Thomas, Lillian Konkle and Kayleigh Epperhart all saw solid playing time. The Golden Bears will play at home in Hall Gym Thursday night, and will continue on to Daleville Saturday morning in the Final day of the MEC tourney.
