Congratulations to Carter Duncan for earning the Kellie Stephen Sportsmanship Award in the Randolph County Boys Basketball Tournament!
Homecoming Court Voting is posted in each class’s Schoology group. Voting will be open until Wednesday 1/15 at 3pm.
Legacy week dress up days are as follows:
Tuesday – Wear purple and white for Parker City school corporation.
Wednesday – Wear blue and white for Farmland and Stoney Creek school corporation.
Thursday – Wear green and white for Green Township school corporation.
Friday – Wear brown and gold for Monroe Central school corporation.
The 2025 Winter Homecoming Dance will be after the boys JV/varsity basketball game on Friday, January 31st until 11PM. This dance is open to grades 7-12 and will cost $5 at the door. If you are bringing a guest who doesn’t go to our school we must have a signed dance request form back to the office by Wednesday, January 29th..
On Sunday February 2nd, from 10AM to 5PM, the annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball invitational will be held at Monroe Central High School. Special Olympics is looking for volunteers in various opportunities such as being a referee, score keeping, runners, clean up, concessions, etc. If you’re interested in volunteering, all day or half day, please send Mrs. Wines a message through Schoology or see her in room 144 to sign up.
After school tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4pm in room 115 or 118.
The weight room will be open for students after school on Monday through Thursday each week from 3:15-4:15pm.
5 Star Driver Education is offering driver education. Stop by the office to pick up an information sheet or go to www.fivestardrivered.com
The Golden Bears wrestling team battled at the Wayne County Classic this past weekend. The team wrestled while being short handed and forfeiting 5 weight classes and finished 2-6 as a team. Senior Jerimiah Ullom went 8-0 and reached the 100 win milestone which makes him only the 6th wrestler to achieve that in the 54 years of the program. Also finishing with winning records was freshman Corbin Taylor (5-3) and Max Lewis (4-3), Sophomores Cory Brown (7-1), Kaiden Sullivan (5-2), and Christian Erwin (6-2) also Senior Landen Tinsman (4-3). Your Bears are back in action Tuesday at home for Senior Night against Madison Grant.
The varsity Lady Bears basketball team defeated the Union Rockets in the first round of the 2025 Randolph County Tournament 61-25. The Bears outscored the Rockets 26-6 in the 3rd quarter to help Monroe Central secure the win. Addy Puckett led the team with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals. Fellow Senior, Sydney Patterson followed with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Brynlee Patterson added 10 points. With the win, Monroe Central moved on to the semi-finals to play Winchester. In the semi-final game, Monroe Central defeated the Falcons 65-44. Abe Ervin paced the Bears with 18 points and 4 steals. Addy Puckett followed with another 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. Sydney Patterson was also in double figures scoring 10 points with 3 assists and 3 steals of her own. Defeating Winchester advanced the Lady Bears to their 2nd straight Randolph County Championship matchup with the Union City Indians. During the championship game, Monroe Central outscored the Indians 30-8 in the 2nd half of the game, securing back to back championships for the Bears with a 51-18 win. Abe Ervin led all scorers with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Sydney Patterson scored 14 points to go along with 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 steals. The Lady Bears finished the Randolph County Tournament with a 3-0 record and outscored their opponents by a combined score of 177-87. Monroe Central is back in action with two Home games this week in the Bear Den.
