The High School Academic Team competed very well Wednesday night in its first meet of the season. Team award winners are:
Interdisciplinary: Team 1st

FFA Members, there will be a Chapter Meeting on Tuesday, January 25th at 6:30 in the Ag Shop. There will be food and games, if you plan on attending sign up on the Ag room door.

Seniors – The senior group picture will be taken today at 11:30 in the gym. Please wear your senior shirt!

There will be a Homecoming dance tonight after the boys basketball game until 11pm. Cost is $3. FYI – Homecoming dress up day winners and the class court representatives get into the dance for free!

Indiana Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Academy has opened registration for the week-long camp that will be held July 17 – 23, 2022. This is open to boys and girls currently in grades 9 thru 12. Please see Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information.

On Saturday 2/12/22, Monroe Central will be hosting the 6th Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball invitational from 9AM to 4PM. Volunteers are needed for the following: referees, table captains, scorekeepers, runners, clean up and so much more so if you’re interested in volunteering, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 for more details. Any help is appreciated!

The Lady Bears traveled to Cowan last night and came home with a 45-29 win. The Bears dominated the second half, holding Cowan to just 1 point in the 3rd quarter. Overall the Bears doubled the Blackhawks score in the second half. Kimber Abshear led the Bears with 14 points. The Lady Bears are back in action next Tuesday in the Bear Den against Delta, this will also be Senior Night. Go Bears!

Here is the recap from the 7th and 8th grade girls basketball game last night against Selma.
7th grade: The 7th girls basketball team were victorious after hosting the Selma Raiders 20-18. It was a battle the whole game as the lady bears were trailing going into half. They managed to get some key baskets in the third and fourth and came out with the victory.
8th grade: The Lady Bears fell to the Selma Raiders 34-20. The lady bears had great defensive effort, but couldn’t get the shots to fall. They forced some turnovers and had some great steals, but in the end it wasn’t enough. Our next game is Monday January 24th at Blackford.
