Daily Announcements 02/01/2022

Attention All Students: If you are in clubs like FCA, Student Council, Anchor Club, Archery Club, Peer Mentoring, Cadet Teaching, or any other school group, it’s time to start practicing your smiles! Monday, February 7th, is group picture day for the yearbook. Groups and sponsors will be called down to the gym one at a time throughout the day, so be sure to show up, show us your best smile, and if your group sponsor wants you to wear your club’s t-shirt for the picture, don’t forget it (or them–if you have t-shirts for more than one club)!

SENIORS AND ANYONE GRADUATING WITH THE CLASS OF 2022: One baby photo and one current photo of each of you needs to be turned in for the graduation video. These must be submitted by Thursday, March 17th to goldenlensphoto21@gmail.com
(Also, if you have any photos or videos of multiple members of the class of 2022 from any year K-12, you are encouraged to send these in as well).

Sophomores and Juniors: MACC applications are available in student services. All applications must be submitted to Mrs. Moran by Monday, February 14th. Stop by student services for an application or to ask questions about a program that might be a great fit for you!

Juniors: We will be offering a college visit to Ball State University for a campus tour and presentation on April 7th. Pick up a permission form in student services. Spots are limited to 50 students, so get yours turned in today!

Indiana Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Academy has opened registration for the week-long camp that will be held July 17 – 23, 2022. This is open to boys and girls currently in grades 9 thru 12. Please see Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information.

On Saturday 2/12/22, Monroe Central will be hosting the 6th Annual IPMG/Special Olympics basketball invitational from 9AM to 4PM. Volunteers are needed for the following: referees, table captains, scorekeepers, runners, clean up and so much more so if you’re interested in volunteering, please see Mrs. Wines in room 144 for more details. Any help is appreciated!

Varsity Basketball Results from the Weekend – On Friday night the boys V team held on for a 62-55 MEC victory over Blue River Valley. Jackson Ullom led the way with 28. On Saturday night it was another MEC victory over Shenandoah 37-27. It was a great road win and all of the Bears played well in this low scoring affair.
