Attention Seniors who are participating in any clubs/sports your senior year: Senior night will be on Friday, February 23, between the JV and varsity boys basketball games against Randolph Southern. Please stop by the office and pick up a senior night form. Forms need to be returned to Mrs. Murray by Friday, February 16.
UPDATE FOR STUDENTS GOING TO DANCES!!! From now on, dance request forms, for students who do not go to our school, will need to be approved for each dance. We will no longer accept one dance request per person for the year. Each dance, you will need to fill out a new request form and return it to the office. Forms will be due the Wednesday before the dance.
There will be a Sweetheart’s Dance on Saturday, February 10th from 7-10pm for students in grades 7-12. Cost is $8 per person or $15 per couple. Tickets will be sold at the door the night of the dance. Dance request forms for students who do not attend MC are due back by Wednesday, February 7th.
Juniors: The Randolph County Youth Salute nomination forms are available in Student Services. If you’ve served in a position of leadership at school, church, or community-sponsored organization, please stop by and pick up a form. All forms are due back to Student Services by March 1st. Please see Mrs. Moran with any questions.
After School Help is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4pm.
The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) is selling granola bars, 2 bars for $1.
Wednesday night the Jr. High wrestlers went to take on the Northeastern Knights. The Golden Bears came out with the win 39-31, GO BEARS!
The JV Bears played Elwood last night. The Bears got off to a good start by leading 13-7 after the first quarter. At halftime the Bears were up 22-18. In the 3rd quarter the bears never lead by anymore than 4 points but by the end of the the bears lead by 3. In the 4 quarter the Bears got the lead up to 5. Elwood tied it at 42 with 1:45 to go but some big free-throws by Jackson Konkle and Cohen West to seal the game and a win 46-42. The Bears were led in scoring by Josh Swearingen with 12 points and 12 rebounds and Carter Wheatley added 11 points.
The varsity bears got off to a slow start to only lead by 5 after the 1st quarter. The bears turned up the defensive the last 3 quarters and held Union 9 points over that span. The Bears won 66-20. The Bears were led in scoring by Easton Foster with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Brylen Case added 9 points. Luke Russell played a real good floor game with 10 rebounds and 2 assists.
