Reading Recognition – The following junior high bookclub members deserve some special recognition. These students have challenged themselves to read as many books as possible during the school year and some have surpassed their reading goals. Well done to the following: Bayli Baker, Chris Ashby, Danielle Rogers, Alison Lacey, and a shout out to our top two readers: Sarah Swearingen with 30 books read and Andi Watson with 40 books read.

Next week is National FFA Week. The following are the dress up days so that everyone can participate.
Tuesday-Cowboy Day
Wednesday-Jorts and Flannels
Thursday-Animal Day
Friday-Crazy Blue and Gold

There will be a callout meeting during LITE period on Tuesday beginning at 10:50 a.m. for anyone interested in playing high school volleyball next year. If you are a current 8th grader – junior, you are invited to the meeting.

Listen up Seniors as we have made a change to Senior Night for next Friday night. Senior Night will be for all seniors who are participating in any extracurricular activity at Monroe Central this year. Senior night will be on Friday, February 25, between the JV and varsity boys basketball games against Randolph Southern. Please stop by the office and pick up a senior night form if you are interested in being recognized. Since we just made this change, we will give you until Monday to complete the form and turn it into Mrs. Murray in the office. However, we ask that if you plan to participate that you let Mrs. Murray know that today so that we can go ahead and order flowers for the event. See Mrs. Murray in the office if you have any questions.

The Sweethearts Semi-formal Dance (Grades 7-12) will be on Saturday, Feb. 19th, 2022 from 8pm-11pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance during lunch or in the library. By purchasing in advance, you can avoid the ticket line the evening of the dance. Ticket costs are $8.00 for a single ticket or $15.00 for a couple’s ticket. (You can pay admission the night of the dance.)

Any 7th or 8th grader who has not yet received information on 21st Century Scholars, needs to turn in an application, or has questions, please see Ms. Northcutt.

SENIORS AND ANYONE GRADUATING WITH THE CLASS OF 2022: One baby photo and one current photo of each of you needs to be turned in for the graduation video. These must be submitted by Thursday, March 17th to goldenlensphoto21@gmail.com
(Also, if you have any photos or videos of multiple members of the class of 2022 from any year K-12, you are encouraged to send these in as well).
