Attention Students!
The Class of 2023 After Prom Committee is putting on a fundraiser called “PUT YOUR TEACHER IN JAIL!” Place your vote in the jars on the stage during lunch. (1 penny = 1 vote.. 1 dollar =100 votes etc) The teacher with the most money in their jar on Friday March 11th will not be able to be in the classroom on March 17th and you will enjoy popcorn and a movie for that class period.

There is a sign up sheet in the office for the fan bus to the boys sectional game on Friday.

Congratulations to our MATH and INTERDISCIPLINARY teams for winning the 2022 EIAL Academic Team League Championship last night! Against 20 teams, Monroe Central finished first in Math and Interdisciplinary. Our ENGLISH team also earned ribbons, finishing fourth. Science and Fine Arts also placed high, but heartbreakingly lost tiebreakers, finishing just out of the top five.

Jr. High Track will start Monday, March 14, after school – 4:30 at the high school. Be prepared for inside and outside practice. Please sign up on Final Forms and have physicals turned in before the 1st practice.

There will be a cheerleading clinic from 4pm-6pm on April 11-14 in Hall Gym.

Cheer tryouts will be on April 15th in the Main Gym starting at 6pm.

Bear Necessities is now collecting toiletry donations for Spring Break for the students at MCHS. Targeted donations this month include (but are not limited to): feminine hygiene products, nail clippers, nail files, men’s dandruff shampoo/conditioner & body wash. Travel kits or sizes are preferred, but we also accept larger quantities. Don’t forget that Bear Necessities can help any student who has a need – 12th graders and 7th graders, extroverts and nice people, gear-heads and cat lovers…we help you all!

The MACC (Muncie Area Career Center) have rescheduled the CTE Open House for Tuesday, March 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sophomores, new hard copy invitations will not be sent out, so be sure to note this new date and time.

Jerry’s Dairy Freezer is hiring, applications are in the office.

On June 8-10, 2022, the Indianapolis Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association will host the FBI Youth Leadership Academy (YLA). The YLA is designed to promote an educational experience that will provide students with valuable leadership training and a greater understanding of the FBI. Application Deadline is April 1, 2022. For more information, see Mrs. Swift in Student Services.

Attention Juniors: The Randolph County Youth Salute application is now available. To qualify, a Junior must have served in a position of leadership in a school, church, or community sponsored organization during the last three years. Applications are available in student services, and they are due by March 17th, Spring Break. Interested students must ask a teacher or counselor for a recommendation.

SENIORS AND ANYONE GRADUATING WITH THE CLASS OF 2022: One baby photo and one current photo of each of you needs to be turned in for the graduation video. These must be submitted by Thursday, March 17th to goldenlensphoto21@gmail.com
(Also, if you have any photos or videos of multiple members of the class of 2022 from any year K-12, you are encouraged to send these in as well).

The JH Wrestling team finished 2nd at county going 2-1. The team lost a tight match with Union City 39-45 and defeated Winchester and Randolph Southern. 7 County Champs going 2-0 @95 Elijah King, 102 Chris Smith, 117 Corey Brown, 126 Kaiden Sullivan, 132 Caden Shockney, and @195 Jaiden Long, @160 Kaidan Huttleston went 1-1. Next up tonight at Muncie Northside.
