Monroe Central High School will be hosting IHSAA sports physicals on May 30th with Dr. Lumpkin. The cost is $20 and must be paid when signing up with Mrs. Murray in the HS office. 

Seniors: Graduation practice will take place Friday, May 31st at 9:00 a.m.  We will need everyone there that is planning to walk at graduation. Graduation picture order forms are in the office.

Prom tickets are for sale during lunch until Friday, May 3rd. Couples are $50 and singles $30. Prom is on May 11th at the Wedding Factory in Albany. Grand March will be at 4pm in the high school gym. Don’t forget to fill out a dance request form if your date does not go to our school. Forms are due back by Wednesday, May 8th.

Monroe Central yearbooks for this school year are still available for sale – but MUST be purchased by 5/13 at the very latest. The cost is $75, and customizations can be done on the weblink (https://www.jostens.com/apps/store/productBrowse/1072508/Monroe-Central-Junior-Senior-High-School/2024-Yearbook/20230927082027553121/CATALOG_SHOP) Questions and cash orders should be brought to Mr. Sims. 

Seniors: Please do not forget to check the Student Services Senior Schoology Group periodically. There are many postings of scholarship opportunities, college events, apprenticeship programs, graduation requirement information and more. Do not miss out on an opportunity! Please see Mrs. Swift in Student Services with any questions.

After School Help is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4pm.

The MCCTA (Mrs. Van Pelt) is selling granola bars, 2 bars for $1.

The Jr High Track teams ran in a 3 way meet on Wednesday against Hagerstown and Driver.  The Girls team continued their winning streak, coming in 1st place. The Boys team placed 3rd.  

The top performers for the Girls were:

Oaklie Davis 1st in High Jump, 1st in Shot Put with a new Jr High Record at 31′ 7″

Brylie Tinsman 1st in 1600, 3rd in 800

Kinlie Lester 1st in High Jump, 2nd in 100, 3rd in 400

Abby Thomas 2nd in 800, 3rd in 1600

May Wright 1st in Disc

Landry Taylor 2nd in 200

Kyra Brockman 2nd in 100 Hurdles

Cora Wagner 2nd in 400

Top Boy performers were:

Miles Gross 2nd in High Jump, 3rd in 200, 3rd in 100

JH golf won last night with a 219. Daleville did not tally theirs up, but their coach said we beat them pretty bad. Top 5 scores were:

Charlee Morris: 43

Case Chalfant: 44

Aberee Ervin: 47

Eli Friend: 47

The varsity softball team lost to the Centerville Bulldogs 11-1 on Thursday. Mak Brainerd, Macy Cummins, Chelsea Erwin, Zoie Hood, Aubrey Johnson, and Whitley Martin each added a hit. The Bears play at Randolph Southern Saturday in the County Tournament. The Bears will face Union City following the first game that starts at 10a.
