Louie’s Tux Shop is sponsoring the 10th Annual statewide Model Search this Fall. Please see the posters that are hung throughout the school for more information. Don’t miss this opportunity for a $1,000 scholarship.
School pictures will be this Thursday, August 25th. Seniors – please make sure you wear something nice as this will be the picture that goes on the senior composite.
The Annual Molecular Medicine In Action program will be held on March 5-6, 2023. The program is FREE of charge, sponsored by Lilly Endowment and conducted by Indiana University School of Medicine faculty. The goal of the symposium is to increase students’ excitement for science, increase the number of students that ultimately select science as a career choice, and provide hands-on learning in a state-of-the art medical research environment. Nominations for sophomore, junior and/or senior high school students to participate in the program will be accepted until November 11, 2022. Please see Mrs. Swift in Student Services for more information.
7th and 8th grade students, this is a reminder that we have begun fundraising for the DC trip for next year. Please remember to turn in your permission slip to the office to begin selling chocolates. Remember that you are not supposed to sell chocolates during the school day. Sales will end on September 1.
The boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams competed in their own Meister Family Invite on Saturday. The girls ended the day as champions, running extremely well. Katie Osborne led the girls team placing 7th. Also running well was Avery Thomas placing 8th, Karly Puckett 11th, Addison Coe 12th, Kelsie Gaddis 19th, Addy Puckett 22nd, and Mackenzie Pryor 24th. Morgan Ferguson, Gracie Baker, and Julia Smith also ran a strong race! The boys’ team placed 2nd out of 10 teams. Eli Chamberlain led the boys’ placing 7th with Caden Landis and Lane Dance placing 9th and 10th. Nathan Daniels, Easton Foster, and Hayden Taylor also ran great! Their next meet is Wednesday at the Arabian Roundup at Pendleton Heights High School, with the girls starting at 6!
The girls golf team was defeated by Bluffton and Jay County. Carol Anne Kritsch was low for the Bears. The highlight of the evening was Gracie Retter shot her best 9 hole score. The girls travel to Player’s Club to take on the Tigers of Yorktown Tuesday evening.
