There will be a high school FFA callout on Friday in Mr. Weilerś room during B of LITE. Junior high FFA callout will be next week on Wednesday. Come see what FFA is about!
Livestock skill-a-thon practice will be held on Monday Aug. 29th in room 150 afterschool.

Louie’s Tux Shop is sponsoring the 10th Annual statewide Model Search this Fall. Please see the posters that are hung throughout the school for more information. Don’t miss this opportunity for a $1,000 scholarship.

The Annual Molecular Medicine In Action program will be held on March 5-6, 2023. The program is FREE of charge, sponsored by Lilly Endowment and conducted by Indiana University School of Medicine faculty. The goal of the symposium is to increase students’ excitement for science, increase the number of students that ultimately select science as a career choice, and provide hands-on learning in a state-of-the art medical research environment. Nominations for sophomore, junior and/or senior high school students to participate in the program will be accepted until November 11, 2022. The girls’ and boys’ high school cross-country teams competed in the Arabian Roundup last night at Pendleton Heights High School. The girls placed 5th out of 12 teams. Katie Osborne led the team placing 15th with Karly Puckett and Avery Thomas placing 16th and 17th. Addison Coe, Addy Puckett, Mackenzie Pryor, Kelsie Gaddis also had strong races. The boys placed 6th out of 14 teams. Eli Chamberlain led the boy’s placing 10th. Caden Landis, Lane Dance, Nathan Daniels, Hayden Taylor, and Zayne Sampley also had great races. The cross-country teams run this Saturday at Wapahani High School in the Wapahani Invitational starting with the girls at 9.

The MC Jr High Cross Country teams continued their winning streak with both teams placing 1st in a 6 way meet at Union City on Thursday evening. Abby Thomas led the girls’ team with a first place finish. Aberee Ervin, Brylie Tinsman, and Andi Watson were close behind in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. Oaklie Davis had a great 11th place finish. Jackson Wines worked hard to come in 1st place out of 41 runners. Zadok Lloyd was close behind in 2nd place. Alexander Coe finished in a solid 3rd place. Wyatt Daniels finished out our top five with 7th place.

Both Lady Bear volleyball squads fell to Northeastern last night. The JV lost in a tough 3 set battle. Sophia Bolton led her team in each category with 2 kills, 6 digs, and 2 aces. Liz Chamberlain and Ava Phelps each added 1 kill apiece. Liz also tallied 5 digs, while Karmen Summers added 2 digs. Rylin Tinsmen helped her team with 3 digs while McKenna Hendy added 1 dig.
JV Scores: 12-25, 25-22, 4-15

The Varsity squad fell to Northeastern in 3 sets. Maggie Haney led her team with 6 kills. Sydney Patterson led her team with 5 digs and added 1 kill. Liz Chamberlain added 2 kills and 1 dig. On the defense, Bri Case, Maggie Haney, and Aubrey Johnson tallied 4 digs apiece. The Lady Bears will place on Tuesday and Thursday next week.
V Scores: 14-25, 17-25, 13-25

The JH volleyball teams came up short last night against Northeastern. There were definitely some bright moments and both teams are working hard to improve. The scores were:
7th/8th Grade Split Team: 5-25, 10-25
8th Grade Team: 12-25, 11-25
Both teams will travel to Richmond on Monday.
