Last night the Lady Golden Bear Volleyball teams traveled to Union for a scheduled conference matchup.  The Junior Varsity squad came out ready to play tonight and won their match in two sets with scores of 25-14 and 25-10.  The girls worked very well together on the floor.  Standing out tonight was Freshman Sophia Hankins who had some great serves and good defensive digs in the backcourt.

Our Varsity Golden Bears got off to a bit of a slow start and found themselves in a deficit in set one.  However, they battled back and just came shy of closing out set 1.  This did not stop them though, they came back with determination and took the next three sets to win tonight’s match with scores of 27-29, 25-16, 25-15, and 25-14. Impressive on the floor tonight was Junior Angie Burress.  She put up some pretty impressive numbers tonight.  She had 5 aces, 12 digs, 21 reception passes with no errors, and 2 kills.  Great job on the court tonight Angie and to all of the Lady Bears in overcoming some obstacles and achieving goals set by your coaches.

The girls and boys cross country teams ran in the Arabian Roundup last evening at Pendleton Heights. The girls team placed 3rd with Avery Thomas leading the way placing 8th and Andi Watson placing 10th. Abby Thomas, Addy Puckett, Ailey Moon, Alivia Arvin, and Ava Phelps also ran well.  The boys team placed 3rd as well with Lane Dance leading the way placing 13th. Alexander Coe was right behind placing 18th with Jedidiah Ferguson placing 20th. Jackson Wines, Stephen Stockwell, Cory Brown, and Noah Moery also ran well. The teams will be back in action on Saturday at the Wapahani Invitational starting at 9 in the morning.
