Seniors – today is your last day to vote for class colors. Don’t forget to vote!

The High School Art Club will have a call out meeting during study hall on Wednesday, September 4th. The Art Club is open to all high school students! If you would like to be involved but cannot attend please send Ms. McClung a message on Schoology.

There will be a Masque and Gavel call out meeting during study hall on Thursday, September 5th. All junior high and high school students are invited.

Seniors: Senior sign orders are due back to the school with payment of cash or check made out to Monroe Central High school by Friday, September 13th. Extra order forms are available in the office.

The Monroe Central Student Amateur Radio Club signup is now open to all students, teachers and staff. It is a free after school club. We provide all the radios, antennas and training materials to study for licensing. Talk to the world with a radio, battery and wire. Sign up sheets are in the office. There will also be a radio club table set up after school on September 9th with more information.

Seniors: You may have noticed a new group added to your Schoology, “The Class of 2025 Student Services Group”. It is very important to check the postings to this group regularly. The purpose of this group is to inform Seniors of available scholarships, college visits/open houses, apprenticeships, graduation information, etc.  Do not miss out on any opportunities! 

Miss Central Indiana & Miss White River Scholarship Opportunity: The Miss America Opportunity (MAO) is offering a scholarship opportunity for women between the ages of 14 and 18. If you want to learn more about this scholarship opportunity, please contact Miss Greer for additional details and registration forms.

After school tutoring will start on September 3rd and will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4pm in room 115 or 118.

The weight room will be open for students after school on Monday through Thursday each week from 3:15-4:15pm. 

5 Star Driver Education will be offering driver education again in 2024. Stop by the office to pick up an information sheet or go to www.fivestardrivered.com

The Monroe Central 7th grade Lady Bears volleyball team showcased their skill and depth in a conference matchup against Blue River Valley, securing a 25-6, 24-26, 15-10 victory. This win brings the Lady Bears’ record to 2-2 for the season.In the first game, the Lady Bears dominated from the start. Claire Cheesman led the charge with an impressive 10 aces, overwhelming the Vikings’ defense and propelling Monroe Central to a commanding 25-6 victory. The Lady Bears were clearly the more skilled team, so Coach Grove ensured that all 12 players saw playing time. This inclusivity allowed the entire team to gain valuable experience on the court.Several players contributed to the Lady Bears’ success. Bristol Goad added 3 aces, while Gracie McCreery chipped in with 2 aces and 1 kill. Izzy McGrath was strong at the net with 2 kills and 2 blocks, and Haidyn Knott delivered 4 aces to keep the pressure on the Vikings. Ashton Baldwin also made her presence felt with 1 kill. The victory was a testament to Monroe Central’s talent and adaptability, with the team continuing to grow and improve as the season progresses.

The 8th grade volleyball team fell to Blue River Valley last night. Performance highlights include Emma Pugsley an ace, a kill, and 2 assists. McKenna Murphy had 2 aces, Gracee Burris and Alyssa Childress each had 1. Lucy Huston had a pair of digs, and Ivy Phelps claimed 1. May Morrison took home 2 kills, and Braelynn Gibbs nabbed 1. The Lady Bears will take the rest of week for practice, returning to action on Monday in an away game against Jay County.

The JH Golden Bears football team marched away with a 30-14 victory over the Union City Indians. It was 30-0 going into the 4th quarter. The Bears performed well in all phases. Scorers for the night; Knox Myers, Dallas Frantz, and Leum Butler. The Bears play at home next week against Shenandoah. Go Bears!!!!

The JV bear football team took on Union City at home on Tuesday night, losing a close game 22 to 20. Caden Dance scored all 3 of the Golden Bear touchdowns. It was a hard fought game that saw our Bears compete to the very end.

Our JV Lady Golden Bears volleyball team came out to a strong start against the Tigers of Hagerstown tonight and had them down in the first set 23-17.  The Tigers were able to fight back and won set one with a score of 23-25.  They continued their streak into set two coming up with the win 13-25.  Impressive numbers were seen tonight from Sophomore Taylor Oren with 5 aces, 12 receptions, and 8 digs.  Also impressive was Sophomore Zoie Hood with 1 ace, 1 kill, and 11 digs.

Our Varsity Lady Golden Bears volleyball team got off to a rough start tonight dropping sets one and two with scores of 7-25 and 7-25.  The team attempted to regroup and did show much better effort in set 3 but came up short with a score of 16-25.  Tonight Sophomore Raegan Quattlebaum showed some nice improvements having 16 service receptions with only 1 error and also added 11 digs to her totals.  Both teams will be back in action this Thursday (9/5/24) in the Bear Den when they faceoff with the Blackhawks of Cowan. JV will start at 6:00p.m. with Varsity immediately following.

The Lady Bear’s Golf Team improved their record to 6-4 by defeating the  Union Rockets at Cardinal Hills Golf Club Tuesday evening.  Low Medalist for the evening was Aberee Ervin shooting 45. Other MC  scores:
