Daily Announcements 09/07/2022

Congratulations to the following 8th Grade Class Officers and Student Council Members. 8th Grade Class President: Carson Siekmann; Vice-President: Maddox Taylor; Secretary: Corbin Lester; Treasurer: Zadok Lloyd. Student Council Representatives: Kloee Brannan, Chandler Breedlove, Bella Scott, Ella Simms, Kaden Sullivan, Lane Whitehead, Zoie Hood, Aubrey Miller, and Andi Watson.

All high school students (grades 9-12) are invited to the Harvest Semi-Formal dance on Saturday, October 1st from 8pm-11pm. Cost of tickets will be $15 for couples and $8 for a single. Tickets can be purchased during lunch starting the week of September 26th and will also be sold at the door the night of the dance. If you plan on bringing a student from another school, please fill out a dance request form and have it returned to the office before September 30th.

If you are an Out of District student that received the Out of District form, please return the completed form to Mrs. Swift in Student Services as soon as possible.

7th and 8th grade students, candy bar sales have ended and money is due at this time.

The girls’ and boys’ high school cross-country teams ran at the Marian Invitational on Saturday. The girls placed 3rd with 91 points out of 11 teams. Katie Osborne led the way, placing 15th with Karly Puckett, Avery Thomas, and Addison Coe right behind placing 16th, 17th, and 19th. Addy Puckett also ran well, placing 35th. The boys’ team placed 5th out of 16 teams. Eli Chamberlain led the boys placing 14th with Caden Landis and Lane Dance placing 17th and 28th. Nathan Daniels, Hayden Taylor, and Zayne Sampley also ran well for the boys!

The 7th/8th grade girls volleyball combined team fought a hard battle last night against Muncie Southside but came up just short with scores off 23-25, 22-25. Putting up some nice stats for this team last night were: Bentley Pegg with 9 Aces, Kyra (pronounced Keera) Brockman with 7 Aces, Sophia Hankins with 4 Aces. The 8th grade girls team came to play and showed up strong with a nice win over Muncie Southside. The scores for those games were 25-24, 25-13. Some of the notable stats were: Olivia Conklin with 4 Aces and 4 Kills, Zoie Hood with 12 Aces and 2 kills, Raegan Quattlebaum with 4 Kills. Great job to both teams!

The Lady Bears Golf team was defeated by Delta at Albany Golf Club Tuesday evening. Maleigh Ervin was low for the Bears tying her best score of the year. The Girls will play Tuesday against Northeastern at Highland Lakes in Richmond.

The JV volleyball squad beat Winchester last night in a 2 set sweep. Leaders for the Golden Bears include Hadley Hendrickson with 6 kills and Mckenna Hendy with 5 digs. Multiple bears tied for a team high of 2 aces including Kaylee Swift, Karmen Summers, Liz Chamberlain, and Mckenna Hendy. Sophia Bolton also helped her team with 4 digs while Karmen Summers and Kaylee Swift both added 3 digs apiece. JV Scores: 25-22, 25-24

The varsity volleyball squad fell to Winchester in a 3 set sweep for the Falcons. Leading the Golden Bears in 2 categories was Sydney Patterson with 4 kills and 8 digs. Multiple bears tied with 5 digs apiece including Bri Case, Karmen Summers, and Maggie Haney. Varsity Scores: 15-25, 12-25, 15-25
