High School FCA will be taking place in hall gym during HS LITE activity period today, Friday. Come for a Bible lesson and prayer!
Students in grades 9-12: Please check schoology and vote for 1 boy and 1 girl to represent your class for the Harvest Homecoming Court. No votes will be accepted after 3pm today.
All high school students (grades 9-12) are invited to the Harvest Semi-Formal dance on Saturday, October 1st from 8pm-11pm. Cost of tickets will be $15 for couples and $8 for a single. Tickets can be purchased during lunch starting the week of September 26th and will also be sold at the door the night of the dance. If you plan on bringing a student from another school, please fill out a dance request form and have it returned to the office before September 30th.
If you are an Out of District student that received the Out of District form, please return the completed form to Mrs. Swift in Student Services as soon as possible.
7th and 8th grade students, candy bar sales have ended and money is due at this time.
Monroe Central Girls’ Golf Team competed against Randolph Southern and Wes Del on Thursday at Hickory Hills. The Bears beat Randolph Southern but were defeated by Wes Del by 3 strokes. 4 out of 5 girls beat the girl they played against. Scores for the Bears: Lauren Skinner: 54, Carol Anne Kritsch: 55, Ariana Poe: 55, Maleigh Ervin:57, Carli Hunt: 58, Gracie Retter: 64 PR. The Bears play Wapahani on Monday at Hickory Hills.
Both JV and Varsity volleyball squads fell to Delta Thursday night in a 2 and 3 set sweep. Multiple JV players tied with a team high of 2 digs including Kaylee Swift, Karmen Summers, Rylin Tinsman, Sophia Bolton, and Angie Burress. Liz Chamberlain led the JV with 2 kills. Jv scores: 14-25, 10-25. Sydney Patterson and Aubrey Johnson tied for a Varsity team high of 4 digs. Maggie Haney tallied 3 digs and a team high of 4 kills. Addi Grove added 2 kills. Varsity scores: 8-25, 11-25, 6-25.
The 7th/8th grade split volleyball team last night started out strong but came up short in the end to Union City. Set scores for this match were 25-15, 20-25, 4-15. Some nice stats in this match were put up by: Bentley Pegg with 12 aces and 3 kills, Sophia Hankins with 5 aces, Braelyn Sourbeer with 2 aces. The 8th grade team captured another victory last night over Union City. Set scores in their match was 25-18, 25-22. Some great numbers were put up by: Zoie Hood with 10 aces and 5 kills, Olivia Conklin with 3 aces and 5 kills, Maria Oliphant and Audrey Boley each had 1 ace to add. Great job ladies. The JH volleyball team will be at home against Cowan on Monday.
