Junior High Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will be taking place in hall gym during JH LITE activity period today, Wednesday. Come for a Bible lesson and prayer!
FFA mum sales will end this Thurs. Sept. 15th. Sales forms will be due at this time.
Students are reminded that unless they are with an adult after school, they are not to be staying after school and hanging out.
Attention Students – If you are putting up locker decorations for a club, sport, etc., we ask that you use either magnets to hold up the decorations or the blue painter’s tape. No other tape should be used on the lockers as it is very difficult to get off and can damage the paint. Thank you for your assistance.
Over the past week, we have had an increase in the number of referrals for dress code violations. We ask that each student review the dress code policy again. You can find that slideshow on the school website or check the printed announcements for the link.
All high school students (grades 9-12) are invited to the Harvest Semi-Formal dance on Saturday, October 1st from 8pm-11pm. Cost of tickets will be $15 for couples and $8 for a single. Tickets can be purchased during lunch starting the week of September 26th and will also be sold at the door the night of the dance. If you plan on bringing a student from another school, please fill out a dance request form and have it returned to the office before September 30th.
The Monroe Central chapter of National Honor Society is hosting a blood drive on Friday, September 30th. Donors must be at least 16 years old. Students 17 years old and over can sign up without parent permission forms. 16 year old students may sign up, but require a parent permission form to be completed. Permission forms may be obtained in the office. Students may register online – check the printed announcements in Schoology for the link. We have also posted the link along with the announcement on the Monroe Central Jr.-Sr. High School mass group page in Schoology. See Mrs. Ulrey if you have any questions.
The Lady Bear golf team was defeated by Daleville on senior night at Hickory Hill. The team was missing senior Lauren Skinner due to illness. Highlights for the night … Maleigh Ervin was low for the Bears with 53 (season best), Carol Anne Kritsch scored the lowest that she has for a few weeks, and Ariana Poe continues solid play. The girls are hoping this momentum will carry forward to Saturday where they will compete in sectionals at Crestview.
The MC Jr High Cross Country teams earned two 1st place titles in a 4 way meet at Delta on Tuesday. The girls team won with a score of 27, just ahead of Delta’s 28 and Union City’s 65. The boys team came in 1st with a score of 25 with Delta at 35 and Union City at 65. Abby Thomas was champion of the girls race, working her way past the 2nd place runner and coming in 11 seconds ahead at the finish. Aberee Ervin ran a strong 3rd place. Brylie Tinsman came in 6th. Andi Watson sprinted hard to pass an opponent at the finish line to secure the win for MC. Brynlee Patterson had a great run, coming in 10th place. Oaklie Davis had a great race, finishing 12th. Jackson Wines added another blue ribbon to his collection, finishing in a strong first place and 30 seconds ahead of the number 2 runner. Alexander Coe ran well to finish 3rd. Jed Ferguson was close behind in 4th place. Wyatt Daniels worked his way up past his Delta opponents to finish 10th. Stephen Stockwell finished in 14th place to complete the top 7. Great job Bears!
