The FFA will be holding their very first chapter meeting of the 22-23 school year in the cafeteria at 7:00pm on Monday the 19th. We will have chili to kickoff the fall season and updates on upcoming opportunities, there also will be a fun activity at the end of the meeting. Please sign up on the ag room door. Hope to see you there!

Any FFA member interested in attending District 9 kickoff on Tues. Sept. 20, pick up a permission form in Mr. Weilerś room and sign up on the door.

We will have tutoring every Tuesday and Thursday night after school. Mrs. Van Pelt will tutor on Tuesdays and Mr. Hartle will tutor on Thursdays. Any questions, see Mrs. Swift in Student Services.

The 8th Grade Student Council and Class Officers will meet outside Mr. Ferguson’s room during LITE Period today. The following 7th Grade Nominees should also attend: Charlee Morris, Casen Morris, Haidyn Dumpert, and Veronica Renner.

There will be a boys basketball call-out meeting for grades 9-12 in Hall Gym on Wednesday, September 21st.

Students are reminded that unless they are with an adult after school, they are not to be staying after school and hanging out.

Attention Students – If you are putting up locker decorations for a club, sport, etc., we ask that you use either magnets to hold up the decorations or the blue painter’s tape. No other tape should be used on the lockers as it is very difficult to get off and can damage the paint. Thank you for your assistance.

Over the past week, we have had an increase in the number of referrals for dress code violations. We ask that each student review the dress code policy again. You can find that slideshow on the school website or check the printed announcements for the link.

All high school students (grades 9-12) are invited to the Harvest Semi-Formal dance on Saturday, October 1st from 8pm-11pm. Cost of tickets will be $15 for couples and $8 for a single. Tickets can be purchased during lunch starting the week of September 26th and will also be sold at the door the night of the dance. If you plan on bringing a student from another school, please fill out a dance request form and have it returned to the office before September 30th.

The Monroe Central chapter of National Honor Society is hosting a blood drive on Friday, September 30th. Donors must be at least 16 years old. Students 17 years old and over can sign up without parent permission forms. 16 year old students may sign up, but require a parent permission form to be completed. Permission forms may be obtained in the office. Students may register online – check the printed announcements in Schoology for the link. We have also posted the link along with the announcement on the Monroe Central Jr.-Sr. High School mass group page in Schoology. See Mrs. Ulrey if you have any questions.

The 7th/8th grade combined volleyball team fought a hard battle against Driver last night and came up just short with scores of 25-13, 19-25, 9-15. This was a fun game to watch and some of the nice stats that came from this game were: Bentley Pegg with 19 Aces and 6 kills, Kaylyn Schneider with her first 2 aces of the season, Bayli Baker with 3 Aces. The 8th grade team also had some good highlights in their match last night but also fell a little short with scores of 16-25, 11-25. Some positive stats to report were: Olivia Conklin with 3 kills and 1 ace, Taylor Oren with 2 aces, Morgan Blake and Raegan Quattlebaum each had 1 ace. The JH volleyball teams will be back in action on Monday, here at home against Daleville.
