Our Fall Sports Spirit week is from September 30-October 4. Here are the dress-up days for that week.

Monday: Hunting Season

Tuesday:Twin Tuesday

Wednesday: Class color day: Teachers can wear Tie-Dye

Thursday:BBQ Dad/Soccer Mom

Friday: Brown and Gold day

There will be a call out meeting for the High School Academic Team in room 114 during study hall on Tuesday, September 24. This year’s topic is Ireland. If you have any questions, please message Mrs. Smiley.

Archery sign up forms are in the high school office. Forms must be turned in by October 1st, they will not be accepted after this date.

Bear Necessities is hosting their Fall Donation Drive during September & October.  Follow us on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook for updates and priority ‘Needs!’  Donation boxes are located in the Main Office & the HS Hallway Display Case.  Monetary donations can also be sent to the Main Office.  Thanks for the support! 

Miss Central Indiana & Miss White River Scholarship Opportunity: The Miss America Opportunity (MAO) is offering a scholarship opportunity for women between the ages of 14 and 18. If you want to learn more about this scholarship opportunity, please contact Miss Greer for additional details and registration forms.

After school tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4pm in room 115 or 118.

The weight room will be open for students after school on Monday through Thursday each week from 3:15-4:15pm. 

5 Star Driver Education is offering driver education. Stop by the office to pick up an information sheet or go to www.fivestardrivered.com

The girls and boys’ cross-country teams traveled to Randolph Southern on Saturday to compete in the Randolph Southern Invitational. The girls team placed 3rd. Avery Thomas (21:19) led the way placing 6th with Andi Watson (21:37) coming in right behind placing 7th. Abby Thomas (22:21) placed 15th and Addy Puckett (22:33) placed 18th. Alivia Arvin (25:15) and Ava Phelps (27:32) also ran well for the girls. The boys placed 4th with Lane Dance (18:27) placing 14th and Jedidiah Ferguson (18:33) right behind placing 15th. Alexander Coe (18:51) placed 18th and Jackson Wines (19:09) placed 25th. Zadok Lloyd (20:00), Stephen Stockwell (20:32), and Noah Moery (23:04) also ran well. The Bears are back in action on Saturday at the South Adams Invitational. 

The Lady Bears Golf Team upset the Wapahani Raiders last evening at Hickory Hills 186-188. The Girls improved their record to 8-6. Low medalist for the meet was Charlee Morris with 37 PR, Other Scores for the Bears were:

The Golf Team plays Daleville Tuesday at Hickory Hills at 4:30 for Senior Night. Come out and support the golfers.

The Monroe Central 7th Grade Lady Bears battled the Cowan Blackhawks in a hard-fought volleyball match, securing victory in three sets (25-19, 24-26, 15-13). In the first set, the Lady Bears established control early, maintaining a steady lead throughout to win 25-19. However, in set two, the Lady Bears struggled to maintain their momentum, narrowly falling short in a close 24-26 battle. Undeterred, the Lady Bears rallied in the final set, narrowly edging out Cowan 15-13 to seal the match. Claire Cheesman was a standout performer, delivering 6 aces and showing her attacking prowess with 5 kills. Haidyn Knott contributed 3 aces and 3 digs, while Mati McConnell added 2 aces and 2 digs. Landry Taylor had a solid defensive effort with 1 dig and made several excellent passes, keeping the Bears in contention throughout the match. Gracie McCreery added 1 ace, and Izzy McGrath contributed 1 ace and a crucial block that kept the pressure on Cowan. All players saw court time, continuing the team’s all-around development as they worked together for the hard-fought victory. This win builds on the Lady Bears’ recent momentum as they continue their successful season, improving their record to 6-2.
